George and Cindy Anthony took time out of their busy schedules this morning to fly to New York and appear Live on the Today Show where they were interviewed by Meredith Viera. I am assuming this was supposed to be part of their plan to search for Caylee Anthony, their granddaughter that has been missing since mid-June. Caylee’s mother, Casey, is being held in jail with no bond and is charged with first degree murder and other charges. It sounded to me like the whole interview was them pleading Casey’s innocence instead of finding Caylee.
George Anthony told Viera that this is the like the greatest rollercoaster ride he and his family has ever been on.
Cindy says that dropping the child neglect charge is only another tactic to slow them down. She says the murder indictment against her daughter is to prevent Casey’s lawyers from viewing evidence in the case. As usual she always blames the law enforcement.
George Anthony says his daughter is a great mom she was always a great daughter and always will be. He is not going to give up on his daughter now nor will he ever.
When asked about how they feel about all the evidence against Casey, the photo’s taken of her in nightclubs and shopping in stores they still sat there and defended her saying the photos were taken prior to June 16 and they still have faith in their daughter. Cindy says that is the problem with this whole thing. She says if you follow the timeline you will see that it just doesn’t add up. She says Casey’s behavior makes sense. It’s not possible for Casey to be guilty. I guess all the witnesses that told authorities about these photos are lying and Casey is telling the truth. What a crock!
Cindy says that people will never know how they will react in difficult times. Cindy says Casey gets judged everyday. She says a lot of it has been from media exposure. Well duh! I would think that is Casey’s own damn fault by not cooperating and lying to the police from the beginning.
George says there are too many things that don’t add up, and he stands by his belief that his granddaughter is still alive and they are going to find her. He said that they have never doubted their daughter not even in a quiet moment. So what was that 911 call all about? Sure sounded like Cindy doubted her then.
When asked when the last time they spoke to Casey was they said they haven’t spoken to her since she was arrested again. They say Casey has asked them to put their focus on finding Caylee now and not to go to see her at the jail. How noble of Casey to suddenly be thinking of Caylee first, IF that is what Casey actually said. Up until now Casey has wanted this to be all about her. She even got flip about it when she was first in jail saying that all they cared about was Caylee, until she caught herself realizing she was being recorded so she changed her words saying of course she was worried about Caylee too.
Meredith asked Cindy what would happen if time came that she would have to come to terms that Caylee is gone and that Casey is responsible for it. Meredith asked would they still stand by their daughter even then. Cindy replied that Caylee comes first but she can’t say what she would do if Casey was guilty but she says she believes Casey is innocent. She says she would support her but she just doesn’t believe that this is the case.
Well in any normal circumstances I would say this was a good thing to do. I have got to voice my opinion about Cindy and George Anthony hopping on that plane and going to New York just so they could be on TV AGAIN! All we hear out of these people is about the tips they get everyday of where Caylee is. They said they have even opened up a new tip line and they have investigators out there looking for Caylee. My question is how come they can get on a plane and head to New York to be on TV instead of hopping that plane to Puerto Rico where they have been telling us for weeks that Caylee is. They are asking for money from people. They say they need the donations to help in the search. Does this mean to help pay for the tickets for two to go to New York or are they going to say that the “Today Show” paid for that. I guess they are such big celebrities now that broadcasting companies are willing to pay for them to appear on their show now.
Ordinarily I would have sympathy for these people mainly because I am a grandparent myself but I have none whatsoever now for these two. I think in the beginning they were sincere but to be honest now I think this is just a game to them. A cat and mouse game to see how long they can throw the detectives off so Casey and her pals can have enough time to plan their strategies. Personally I see Cindy Anthony as much of a liar as her daughter Casey is and I don’t believe anything she says either. She has constantly changed her story for her daughter’s convenience. She should know better.
Maybe people should start boycotting TV shows that have the Anthony’s as guests on their show pleading a case for Casey Anthony. That would put a halt to their stardom. Then maybe time would be spent on actually looking for Caylee. All these appearances are about is Casey. Not for looking for Caylee. They keep saying over and over again they are looking for Caylee but when the interviews start it always goes to Casey and how they believe she is innocent.
I wish they would find Caylee so this can all come to an end. I am so tired of seeing the Anthony’s on TV or online blaming everyone for Caylee not being found but the one that is to blame. They need to completely focus on finding Caylee and forget about having their picture plastered on magazines and online all over and on TV.
Caylee needs to be found. Please say a prayer for her and pray that she is found soon. God Bless You Caylee! We love you honey.

I have already decided to stop watching any show they are on again. Unless they can come to terms with the truth and show respect to those searching NO tv show have them on again!
Cindy needs to step back, talk a long look at the facts, watch how she has behaved and instead of these media apprearences to defend her daughter, follow up on some leads. Understand this, no we don’t know how we would react but I can bet most of us who have nothing to hide would not act like she has.

goochie-How can you give them the benefit of the doubt, when they contradict themselves? The only time Cindy was truthful was that first phone call, “smells like a dead body”…George said himself in interview with police that he felt his daughter has something to hide. They have not looked anywhere for Caylee. George drove around ORlando with a billboard, but never stepped foot out of it to look.
No to mention, why would no one Caylee’s clothes be missing from the house???

Jan - you have once again zeroed in on the crux of this. The fact that Cindy and George are mugging in the media (and their son Lee is most like in seclusion writing a book), the fact that they can profit on publishing fees for Caylee’s picture - ALL of it is shameless and sickening.
But I think we have to take it beyond simple boycotting and tell people in the media that are holding these interview and paying their expenses that we are no longer interested in their programs. If we threaten to let our opinions be known to their advertisers I’m sure these two will get off this media “rollercoaster” and fade back into their dysfunctional little lives.
I am in total agreement with you and I don’t know why the media is entertaining the Anthony’s. I mean one day George goes to the grand jury and agrees that a decomposing body is in the car and the next day he is looking for a live Caylee. So whose’s dead body was in the car? Cindy says that no one knows how they would react in a situation like this, which is true, but one thing is for sure I wouldn’t be out there accusing the law enforcement and making a fool of myself like she is in the media. I doubt she will even agree if they do find Caylee’s body it will be someone else’s. No wonder Casey is a cronic liar she gets it from her mother.

Everyday on my lunch break I do a google search for Caylee Anthony, hoping everyday that there will be some kind of news about this little girl, but the only thing that pops up is Casey Casey Casey or maybe Cindy. Its beginning to get annoying.
Oh poor Casey….she didn’t report her child missing because she was “scared”. I migh believe that if there was a ransom note or a phone call from someone saying if she called the police the kid was dead. Then MAYBE I can understand why you wait A MONTH to report your child missing.

As far as the pictures not being taken while Caylee was missing….its been proven. Casey’s friends have said she was out and acted like nothing was wrong…..her boyfriend said he heard NOTHING about Caylee being missing. Did she think Caylee was at a night club or a 4th of July party? 3 year olds usually end up places like that.
I’d love to understand why she lied to the police about where she worked and EVERYTHING else. That really is normal behavior right?

Remember telling Simon at the tow yard that your daughter has been missing for a month and she’s been lying to you about where she’s been. AND Cindy, remember telling Casey’s friends she is a sociopath and not to have any more contact with her. Remember calling 911 to report your daughter stole your car and also money. Remember calling your daughter an unfit mother. Geeezzzz you idiots, all this stuff is on tape, it came from your own mouth, you can’t just keep back peddling and expect people to believe you….

Its funny how these people can called the police names, accused them of “tactics” etc. Yet when protesters were making threats these are the very people they called. CIndy and George should be thanking them for getting a killer off the streets, they could have very well been next.
I have been reading up on this case almost from the beginning. No law experience, but am just befuddled with how Cindy and George have enabled there daughter to be dependant on them. My youngest is 20 years old and I will assist in her college education so she will be a working member of society. How and why parents can’t tell there kids “no” and “grow up” is beyond me. It is sad to think they have made this young girl who she is today. Spoiled and many other words come to mind. She surely needed mental help when she was younger. I believe her to be a pathological liar and probably believes most of what she says as truth.
I have tried to have sympathy for the grandparents but it is very apparent that they are in grave denial. George states, “Casey is a good daughter” What a revelation! What was in his coffee? It has been proven that Casey lied about a job, stole and committed fraud, and lied to police officials. If she is a good daughter, my daughters must be saints! They continue to enable her as they have done her whole life. It is time to break this vicious cycle. She is now getting money for the commissary, to buy goodies for herself while she reads, sleeps, and leaves her family heart broken. The irony is that they allow it.

Hello Everyone - This is my first post, but I have been spending a lot of time reading your wonderful and insightful posts.
First of all, I definitely share your feelings about M. I can say that I actually physically hate this woman.
What kills me the most about this interview is that they are on national television and not pleading for the return of Caylee. If they are so sure she is alive, you would think they would be frantically pleading for help and the safe return of “that girl” (as George would put it. I have seen people get more frantic over the loss of a dry cleaning ticket than these people have over that precious little girl.
Also, Meredith is about the softest hitting journalist they could have gotten. Good lord, a proctologist is more probing than she is. Can you imagine if Nancy Grace had that interview? Now that would be something!
Chrisisright-I think you should be directing that to the Anthony’s. They are the ones who continue to bring this on themselves. We do not ask them to subject us to this! Cindy could get on tv and say, I will not be speaking about my daughter, please respect that. I am only here to ask for help in finding Caylee. alive or dead we want closure! Chrisisright - I get what you are saying about the presumption of innocence. And believe me, I would like nothing more than to be wrong. It sickens me to think I might be right because that means that beautiful child is dead.
Again, I would love to be able to think that this woman is innocent because then maybe Caylee is alive, but everything points in the opposite direction.

What about none of Caylee’s clothes taken, what the fact that Casey couldn’t go to P.R. with her friends because she didn’t have a sitter, then started searching missing kids sites, what about the fact she was partying it up while her child was missing! What about the fact she deleted over 200 pictures of her duaghter from the computer..this is just a fraction of what they have! I have no doubt a fair jury will find her guilty! And you can stop hiding behinding this name Mrs. Anthony! You will not get any sympathy here!
I know she is a bad Mom, I know bad mothers, but they are not murderers to the best of my knowledge. My kids hair is all over the place, in the sink, the bath drain, sometimes my soup and defintely in my car. Now of course the FBI labs can tell if the hair was from a living or dead person, however they have yet to even confirm it is that of Caylee, dead or alive. Same with the decomposttion gases, they may be able to say they were present but not from whom or what.
All said, I am with the majority, I only caution that if by some wonderful fortune this beautiful baby is found alive, you will be cast as the Pontious Pilot of your time, for crucifying a person before proper justice could be served, and have we not all been taught that what I refer to is the largest miscarriage of justice (OJ aside) the world has ever known - are our collective memories so short?

And what if a person (any person) were in jail? By her own actions, casey (whoever she may be today?) revoked whatever rights she may have had, guilty or not guilty. I would be the happiest woman on the planet if Caylee was found alive.
But it would be very short-lived because I would then want to know the identity of the dead person whose body was in Casey Anthony’s trunk.
Chris - my experience has been the opposite. the ones equating innocence with justice here are basing their opinions on unsubstantiated hearsay and the ones who are casting judgement are anything but void of facts.
While in court, the presumption of innocence holds true; however, this is not a court of law but a forum for people who are frustrated at what has appeared to be a circumvention of justice.
If the people on here subscribe to a view you don’t agree with, you can certainly disagree but you are not encouraged to call them ignorant, Pontius Pilate or a lynch mob - wouldn’t that hyperbolic invective be against the very presumption of innocence principle you to which you claim to subscribe?

goochee…….Many a person has been convicted and on death row or put to death on circumstantial evidence. I’ll bet you a dollar to a hole in a donut, that LE has a lot more evidence than has been made public. I’ll also bet Casey Anthony is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison..!!

I used to have sympathy for the grandparents as well… but after this mornings performance, I am utterly and completely sick.
They aren’t searching for Caylee. They are only on a crusade to portray Casey as a victim, and the police and prosecutor as witch hunters who have building a case against their daughter from the get go. They’re not out searching. They make sure their faces are on every news program, everyday - to repeat, repeat, repeat, the media has it all wrong, their lying, thieving daughter is really the victim. Why not go on Today and announce their “leads”. Wow - what a platform to make sure millions of people know what or who to be looking for? Nope - they don’t do that. They use their time on a national news program to bash the police, FBI and searchers, and whine about how their daughter is getting the short end of the stick.
Claiming Casey is a “good” mom? How can they say that with a straight face? If my 2 year old was missing for 30 seconds, I’d have the police, FBI, National Guard and anyone else I could get searching for my baby…. waiting 31 days?? Really? Good mom? Yeah - don’t think so. Was that before or after she maxed out all their credit cards, broke into their garage to steal, stole from his incapacitated grandparents, lied about her employment for the last 2 years, manipulated them into not only financially caring for her child, but also continuing to care for her!? I’m a single mom too. I had my daughter when I was 20. Guess what? My parents, while offering support in a child care capacity, expected me to have a job. Pay for my own and my daughters health care. I agree. Nothing Cindy, George or Jose are saying is doing anything to assist the public or police search for their missing (dead) grand-daughter. The only thing they are doing is repeating until they’re blue in face how it is really Casey who is the victim.
Another thing that has always struck me. How can these people keep saying that Zanida took the baby? Casey hung herself with that story. According to her, Zanida had been living in the Orlando area for at least 4 years. Had at one point worked at Univerisal. Had a sister who worked and lived in the area. Had a mother who lived in the area. If there had been even an ounce of truth to the Zanida story - one of Casey’s statements would have been found out to be true. How do 3 people (well 4 if you count the baby) just poof - disappear into thin air? They don’t. They never exsisted.
It’s a sad story, that’s for sure. Sad for Caylee.

Here’s what I think. Caylee is dead. If M sold her or gave her away or any of those things, M would be coming forward to save her own skin and face alot less time in jail, instead of facing life in prison or the death penalty. I pray that I am wrong and that Caylee is alive, but I’m preparing for the worst. JMO

Flash - good point about assistance. Our blog has been visited a number of times in the wee hours by someone in Western Australia who has been asking if M was receiving public assistance. At first I thought not. But now I wonder? I did not know a single mom could receive assistance.
Someone else pointed out that if the father had really died that Caylee could have received some social security benefit. But of course if the Ants wouldn’t reveal who he was that was never going to happen (if he even was deceased).

And low and behold - due to their diligence, their daughter was returned safely. It makes NO sense that George, Cindy and the lawyer would be getting leads and not sharing them. No sense at all.
Also, for Cindy to keep declaring that everything is circumstantial… how does she know? She doesn’t know what forensic evidence was recovered from that car. None of us do. And I hate to tell remind her of all the circumstantial murder cases that have been proven over the years. Scott Peterson anyone?? She was posturing this morning on the Today show. She said that for any evidence showing guilt, they would provide a expert to dispute it. Well… I’ll give that to her. That is what the trial is for. But if their daughter is so innocent, then why would she already be saying that they’ll have experts to dispute everything? And WHY on earth, did the lawyer not request a speedy trial? B/c he needs about 20 years to come up with an “understandable” defense for this momster!

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Did Casey Anthony kill her own daughter with chloroform? Eyewitness News has learned someone was looking up the recipe to cook up the chemical on Casey’s home computer around the same time Caylee disappeared.
There was evidence of high levels of chloroform in the trunk of Casey’s car and sheriff’s investigators found that someone on Casey Anthony’s computer was researching not where to buy chloroform, but how to make it yourself, which can be done easily.
Eyewitness News legal analyst Bill Sheaffer says, if you were up to no good, there would be an advantage to making it as opposed to buying it.
When you Google “how do you make chloroform,” more than a million websites are listed with instructions. On the first one, page one had an explicit warning about chloroform’s dangers, calling the chemical extremely dangerous and unpredictable and warning never to allow children to come near chloroform.
FBI lab tests show high levels of chloroform in the trunk of Casey’s car, where investigators say Caylee’s body had been. And there was a mysterious stain in the trunk along with Caylee’s hairs and dirt.
“Another piece of evidence in the circumstantial chain,” Sheaffer said.
Sheaffer said it’s significant because, if Casey made the chloroform as opposed to buying it, she could have been trying to cover her tracks. Buying it would have generated some sort of record.
“This way certainly, she could argue, ‘Alright, I was interested in looking into how to make chloroform, but I never did.’ Or, ‘That’s why you smelled chloroform in the trunk area, because I was experimenting in making it,’” Sheaffer said.
Record or not, the jury would be faced with a compromising question for Casey.
“Why would you need to make chloroform. For what purpose?” Sheaffer questioned.
Last week, the Orange County grand jury heard from the FBI and one of the sheriff’s computer investigators and that information is going to be released to the public very soon.

WFTV is reporting here that 2 women Joyce Story ($100) and Nola Copeland ($50) both put money into Casey’s commissary account today. WTF? Who are these women and why did they think that was a good way to spend their money?? Last night Nancy talked about the people who put money into Casey’s account so maybe these two people want some really weird kind of attention?
If they want to give their money away why not TXEQ.org. Casey is just fine in jail- she’ll have FREE health care. I bet if she gets a tooth ache she’ll get right to the dentist. I’m saving up to go. GRRR! This case makes me so mad. If these women did it for publicity I hope everyone fiercely ignores them. Casey Anthony is a liar, a thief, a whore, and a murderer. For her stupid parents to think she is innocent and a great mother and daughter is mind bending. Remember, it was Cindy Anthony who told Casey’s friends that Casey was a psychopath and to stay away from her. Cindy was the one who told Amy Huzeinga to check her bank account and sure enough Casey stole thousands of dollars from her. It was Cindy who wanted her daughter arrested for stealing her car, stealing money from her and she is the one who told the police that it smelled like a “dead body” was in the car. Gee psycho Cindy, why the change of heart? So why are grandma and grandpa so supportive of the monster they raised? Of course…the money. They get paid for going on TV shows and sharing photographs. NBC paid them over $200,000. For ex-cop turned security guard, George and, Cindy a nurse on disability, that is a bunch of money. So hey, keep on going on tv rather than trying to find their granddaughter themselves. Have you seen either one of these two idiots actually looking for Caylee. NO! And how dare they mock people who are trying to find their granddaughter. I’m sure the Anthonys are eyeing book rights right now which should pay them millions. What great grandparents they are, to profit from their granddaugters disappearance and their family dysfunction.
