For some reason, the media (and therefore the public) has largely chosen to ignore a GAO report (that's a non-partisan government investigatory organization) stating that the current electronic voting machines are vulnerable to hacking, and there is no way to check their code (which is proprietory) to discover if the vote you see is the vote you voted.

The party in power--and it could be Democrats someday, but it's not--is doing everything it can to retain power. The idea of personalities determining the course of events is very limited--we never saw the succession of leaders in the USSR or in China as anything more than the next mouthpiece of the party. But for some reason, we don't seem to grasp that McCain, Palin, or whomever leads their ticket will be a mouthpiece for those who determine the course of America and have done so for 8 years.

Their means of retaining power is to disenfranchise voters at every level while throwing up dust and smoke. They can be sure that Acorn (dread!) will occupy the headlines while they make sure various citizens lose their right to vote. Enough of this and that, and an election is won or lost. Witness the disappearance of 18,000 electronic votes in Democratic-leaning Sarasota in 2004--and the GOP candidate won by under 1,000.

I have no confidence that they will let power go and walk away. I'm still waiting for an October Surprise, such as the last time, when Osama bin Ladin conveniently released a video saying to vote for Kerry and the terrorist alert went up to Orange a week before the election. Thank goodness the Obama people are wise to it this time, but I think that this election will end up in the courts regardless.

I didn't get by info on voter fraud from Obama or McCain. I'm a Dem and I'm positive we have voter fraud, we should do everything in our power and then some to stop it. There is no doubt in my mind illegal aliens are voting.

You, down south, have much to fear from those currently in power. They will protect their agenda at any cost.

Barack Obama - may the force be with you.

And Senator John McCain's hand-picked running mate also has equally disturbing individuals in her life. Former Alaskan Independence Party chairman Mark Chryson said recently in an interview: "I've got enough weaponry to raise a small army in my basement," he said, clutching a 9-millimeter Makarov PM pistol in his palm. During the 1990s, when Chryson directed the AIP, he and another radical right-winger, Steve Stoll, played a quiet but pivotal role in electing Palin as mayor of Wasilla and shaping her political agenda afterward. Both Stoll and Chryson not only contributed to Palin's campaign financially, they played major behind-the-scenes roles in the Palin camp before, during and after her victory. The AIP was born of the vision of "Old Joe" Vogler, a hard-bitten former gold miner who hated the government of the United States. With sponsorship from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Vogler was scheduled to present his case for Alaskan secession before the United Nations General Assembly in the late spring of 1993. But before he could, Old Joe's long, strange political career ended tragically that May when he was murdered by a fellow secessionist.
