Now it seems we are the problem. Now he is not talking about CO2, or global warming, or climate change. Now it’s just us. Humans. The scourge of the planet, that somehow all the changes are our fault, we are killing everything. I wonder if he has ever heard of “the natural order of things”? If you are a religious person and we are all children of god, and we have a mandate from GOD to be who we are. If you believe in the big bang theory, then we still have every right to be here, and evolve in a way that is natural, for us. We are not invaders from Mars. But I suppose, next we will be hearing from Mr Suzuki that WE are responsible for the climate on Mars now, since he couldn’t prove it here.
There are many scientists that say the opposite of what Al Gore and Mr Suzuki have been shovelling to us. As of late many people are turning to the sky and examining the sun instead. April 22, 1970 was the first :Earth Day”. Yes they have been scaring us with Global Warming, Climate Change, whatever, for 38 years now! Way back when Fonzy was just starting to grow up we were getting the pitch to save the planet. I am not much into light readinglike this, but I am intrigued to see phrases like “highly unlikely” and “reasonable to assume” in a scientific report. In this report it also asserts that the CO2 levels in the atmosphere today are LOWER than they were in the Earth’s distant past. It is this “uncertainty” that drives my disbelief of anything tied to this topic. This report states that by the year 2100 if the “scenarios” are correct, carbon emissions will have dropped to ZERO. Enter the Global Warming Swindle. This documentary was aired on Channel 4news and received a variety of responses. Naturally, not well received by those that would have us believe we had 10 years till we all burned up. Another report of interest here in 2008 is of course, not based on CO2, but rather the sun. Imagine that.
Now let’s take a trip through space shall we, to Mars. Now I would never attempt to discredit NASA but I do believe being told over and over by the experts that Mars was a very DRY and HOT planet. Except perhaps for the Ice crystal fog during the day, just above the surface, and -130 degrees temps at night. Amazing how a little probe up there on the service could flush 50 years of scientific (fact) down the toilet. In fact it is now known that water DOES exist on Mars. And where there is water, there is, or has been, life. SO, before we all start living in treehouses and crapping in the bushes again like animals. Let’s take a good look around us, we are a product of this Planet, nothing more, and it will be here long after we are gone. Unless of course the asteroid hits in 2012, but that’s another story.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI have to admit that Dr. Suzuki is off my Christmas card list. For the past two years I have previewed a TV show that features Dr. Suzuki as a sound bite expert.
When I tried to get an interview, he declined because I was in Canada and the show was being shown in the US! It matters not where I am, I was previewing for the channel! Oh, and Dr. Suzuki is a Canadian citizen.
He has been moved to my ‘A-hole’ category!
All I know is more and more people are getting asthma every year, and polarbears are running out of ice.

Dinosaurs were terminated largely by a meteorite impact, not mercury from a screwey fragile light-bulb. Suzuki lost his environmental credibility when he refused to debate anyone about anything. His Ph.D. in science expired a long time ago when he stopped beig skeptical and joined Al Gore’s bandwagon. Something about crying wolf has watered down the entire eco-religion for most of us.
As I understand it, the hypothesis of the Danish National Space Center goes as follows:
Active sun → enhanced magnetic and thermal flux = solar wind → geomagnetic shield response → less low-level clouds → less albedo (less heat reflected) → warmer climate
Quiet sun → reduced magnetic and thermal flux = reduced solar wind → geomagnetic shield drops → galactic cosmic ray flux → more low-level clouds and more snow → more albedo effect (more heat reflected) → colder climate
That is how the bulk of climate change might work, coupled with (modulated by) sunspot peak frequency there are cycles of global warming and cooling like waves in the ocean. When the waves are closely spaced, the planets warm; when the waves are spaced farther apart, the planets cool.

Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. The more carbon dioxide, the more heat can be trapped. What’s so difficult to understand?
God did not put us here on a mandate to poison ourselves. Of course we can choose to evolve in such a way that we create terrible suffering and possible extinction. That is not my choice.
Your standpoint is dangerous - I encourage you to review works of the IPCC.
David. Reading bits and pieces of something then saying the same ol same ol is typical of the fear mongers that started this whole fiasco. CO2 is also what plants and trees need for food. It is also a “natural” by product of humans and many natural things. Poison ourselves? What does that have to do with green house gas? oh you mean this?
One more piece of reading for you David. Mr Fred Singer, ever heard of him? He is a respected scientists and at one time a member of the IPCC. Also a climate expert for NASA,Singer has also worked with organizations with similar views, such as the Independent Institute,[17] the American Council on Science and Health[18], Frontiers of Freedom[19], the Marshall Institute, the National Center for Policy Analysis,[20] and the Science & Environmental Policy Project, which Singer founded. His work was changed and mis represented to reflect the LIE, and he has spoken out on it. The internet is a wonderful thing for finding information, try using it.

If Mr. Suzuki, Al Gore and the Sierra Club are not willing to debate their position, why should we believe one syllable of it? There are plenty of scientists who will.
David, the IPCC is a total fraud. It’s a government body, not scientific. It is politically driven. There are far more scientists who disagree with the IPCC claims than those few who actually agree with them.

31,000 scientists say more CO2 is GOOD for the planet and man-made climate change is only a myth. Not only that, current CO2 levels are extremely low compared to the earth’s history.
The IPCC reports are authored by no more than 52 “scientists”. Yes that’s right, fifty-two. All of the scientists at the UN have no say in whether they agree with those IPCC reports. That’s called censorship.
