A man who developed the asbestos related cancer mesothelioma has filed a lawsuit against fifty three defendant companies, accusing them of conspiring to conceal information relating to the dangers of asbestos and exposure to asbestos dust and fibers.

Harvey Williams claims that since he was diagnosed with the cancer he has suffered physical pain, mental anguish, loss of income, loss of ability to earn an income, and huge medical costs. He filed his lawsuit in Jefferson County District Court.

The lawsuit claims that the defendant companies were aware of the dangers of exposure to asbestos but chose to suppress the information, thus putting workers at risk. The lawsuit states: “Each defendant violated federal and state regulations relating to asbestos exposure.”

The lawsuit also goes on to say: “Defendants knowingly conspired among themselves to cause the plaintiff’s injuries, diseases, and illness by exposing him to asbestos. Defendants committed conspiracy by willfully misrepresenting and suppressing the truth as to the risks and dangers associated with asbestos.”
