Posted earlier (before the VP names were announced by either candidate) on another blog:

"If Obama chooses Hillary, he cannot win. If McCain chooses Huckabee, he cannot lose."

So, given that neither of those events happened, here we are a few weeks from election day and the race is still close.

Forget the polls. Forget the debates. Forget the campaign rhetoric from both camps. Most of it is crap anyway.

Just sit down and think about those things which are most important to you now and those which you think will be important to you ten years from now. Then, vote for the candidate you think will be less likely to dash your hopes and dreams.

It's all you can do really. You have to vote for the lesser of two evils. That's the only choice you have. That's the only choice you'll ever have as long as the Electoral College is in play.

I think that Mr Obama will be the next US president, although that in itself does not mean good news. There are many things about his past that raises a lot of questions. Just as interesting is who will win Tuesday in Canada. Can you imagine Mr Dion as the Canadian PM trying to talk to Mr Obama working on NAFTA, or arctic issues?
