Anyone with a brain could never believe Casey’s horrendous story. Does Baez really believe it? Has he ever defended why she was out partying a week after Caylee went missing, cooking dinner with her friends (no mention of a missing child)and then there’s the shopping spree with her friends money?? All while her precious 2 yr old was kidnapped. Didn’t she say she was doing her OWN investigating?

I saw in the videos of the grandfather George talking to the cops that he himself said he didnt like Baez, that he “came out of nowhere.”

I personally think that smirky Baez is doing it for the notoriety.

..The person in custody must, prior to interrogation, be clearly informed that he or she has the right to remain silent, and that anything the person says may be used against that person in court; the person must be clearly informed that he or she has the right to consult with an attorney and to have that attorney present during questioning, and that, if he or she is indigent, an attorney will be provided at no cost to represent him or her.

They are called miranda rights.

The accused “chooses” his or her own attorney. It’s also called a constitutional right. I realize most have forgotten what a constitution is) Why would that make an attorney sleazy?

The accused is completely innocent at this point. If the jury finds her guilty I hope she is locked up for life, I would even press for death penalty. But face it if you were accused of a crime whether you did it or not, who would you call for legal advise? Your plumber because he has a nicer website than Mr. Baez?

It appears to me that Jose Baez thinks his client is guilty and that is why he needs all his scientists to try and discredit the forensics done by the officials hired by the Orange county sheriff’s office.

It appears to me that is gonna be his mode of defence. Attack the evidence and get it thrown out of court. Well, that was Dr. Lee motive in the O J Simpson trial. OCSO take your time processing the scene. Caylee is worth every effort.

All for getting evidence back in the courtroom and getting rid of attorneys who tried and keep the truth out of the courtrooms.

One wonders why a man with such dreadfully below-average verbal skills would bother to pursue a career in law - Lawyers live & die on the basis of their facility with words.

When speaking, Jose Baez sounds like a (dim-witted) lay person attempting to channel half-remembered episodes of ‘Law & Order.’

This would be funny were it not for the fact that Jose Baez’s obvious incompetence could lay the foundation for
“ineffective counsel” claims by Casey “Mother of the Year” Anthony.

Coming from a reknown trial lawyer, who is published, respected and has been on the news more than 80 times, the Discovery Channel, and recently contacted by entities including Inside Edition, Jose Baez is a moron. He doesn’t fall from those enterprising lawyers whose life really makes little difference to the masses. He may be a nice guy, but he is not a true trial lawyer. A couple of thoughts.

First, Baez is all about himself. He is clearly all about himself and not his client or the client’s best interests. If the situation were reversed, then it would be imperative to keep his client out of the limelight, not in it. There is not one thing to be gained for Ms. Anthony. His role is more in facetime with the media than in reducing his client’s exposure. If anyone can tell me one thing, just one thing, that he has said on tv to help his client’s case, please tell me about it. I haven’t heard one thing to imbue sympathy towards this tramp.

Second, Baez failed lawyering101 and defense of the accused. If Mr. Baez had spent more time getting his client to shut up, then in time spent with the press, then Casey Anthony would not be in the deepest shit she currently stands in. Because Baez failed to tell his client to anticipate that every recording from the jail facility to be recorded, to anticipate that her every move would be cross-checked, to not speak with Detectives, to not speak about this case, he knowingly allowed Ms. Anthony to immensely damage her defense. How hard would it have been to tell her to shut up, that he will tend to everything.

He should have shut her mother up too… The pizza slice… How original. Old, maggots and all. Smells just like a dead body. Man I hate it when that happens. Did he not think that the additional information wouldn’t be followed up on? Has anyone on this planet who has ever had pizza left over in the morning on the kitchen counter ever thought the pizza smelled at all? What about the 2 week test? I think not.

Third, false promises made. If Mr. Baez had any information worth a damn to exonerate his client, then he should and would have presented it to the grand jury and sought at that juncture to head off any indictment. Not later. He failed to do this. Trying the case to the media, without any credible evidence, is absurd. He makes not a damn bit of sense. That he will reveal to a jury of 12 later on that which should exonerate his client…. ha. He tells us that he will be able to explain everything to a jury and that they will understand his client. The quintessential example of wanting to have one’s cake and eat it too.. See you in sentencing pal.

Fourth, Baez is all over the place when it comes to strategy. That they are confident they will find Casey yet in the same vein they will fight the capital murder case tooth and nail. This goes without saying. Why the hell would any lawyer be defending a capital murder case if they knew for sure that the child was still alive? They’d be working around the clock with prosecutors. Sure, let me try this case to a jury when there is any likelihood that the victim would still be alive. Why not persuade the judge that the case should be set off for that very reason. Oh, I guess Baez thinks the public will buy this line of bullshit but not the Judge. Or maybe he already tried it with the Judge and it failed. I think the Judge told both counsel to pick a date and I disagree with the tv commentators who claim the case will take 18-24 months before it gets to trial. It will go first time they are up in January, unless there is good cause for a reset.

Fifth, “ineffective assistance of counsel.” I think the case will be replete with failures with respect to preservation of error and the like. The real question is whether it would be “reversible error.” So long as Baez doesn’t fall asleep, I think she is out. Baez should seek the assistance of competent co-counsel. It is my understanding that this is his first capital case. If so, then this battle should not be one to be fought alone.

My personal opinion about Ms. Anthony. You are presumed innocent under the eyes of the law. Because I am not going to be a juror in your trial, I think you are guilty of killing your daughter. I think you liked the excitement of running with your boys, partying and staying out late. You were bored with the burden of raising a child at a young age. That coupled with your anti-social borderline personality disorder, it only made sense that you devised a plan to get rid of your daughter and lied about virtually everything in the cover up. That you believed everyone, including the detectives who followed you to Paramount, would believe you. I hope you spend the rest of your days in prison, where you belong.

For those who have not heard her jail tape, listen to it. Nothing in it that sheds any concern for the whereabouts of her daughter. Her brother and friend are concerned. She is only concerned about getting her boyfriend’s telephone number. Doesn’t want to be bothered about anything related to her daughter and blows up when anyone else wants to address the issue.

Baez. I don’t know what to say. You messed your client up. Your client messed herself plenty before and after you met her. Most civilians won’t have a clue. They’ll think that you are something special by virtue of being on the net and tv. Whatever. Big difference between talk and walk. Your client won’t be walking free anymore.

Your arrogance and stupidity will keep you in this thing. You won’t win. And your client will lose.

To wit, the LSAT score of the ‘brightest’ student in Baez’s class would fail to ‘make the cut’ at some 151 of the 185 law schools ranked by the Internet Legal Research Group.

It is interesting to note that Baez makes no mention of his less-than-distinguished alma mater on his website.

(To acknowledge such a thing would no doubt take the ’shine’ right off of the ridiculous faux ‘coat of arms’ he has chosen for his one-man firm)

To be fair, I am willing to believe that Baez’s alma mater has produced some fine lawyers, however, it is clear that Baez is not one of them.

Indeed, until I witnessed Baez in action, I had assumed that there was no such thing as an inarticulate lawyer.

Regardless of whether Baez is speaking or writing, he appears to have the vocabulary of the average 12 year-old, but without benefit of the average 12 year-old’s understanding of grammar!

Worse still, Baez looks at least as uncertain, hesitant, inexperienced & uneducated as a nervous 2nd year law student appearing in a court of law for the first time as a volunteer with their school’s legal clinic.

(Crying, “Not fair!” in the course of a court proceeding is proof that Baez is not only woefully uneducated and unprofessional, but so lacking in basic intelligence that ‘common sense’ can elude him - even the most casual TV viewers, deluged as they are in ‘Law & Order’ reruns and ads for Court TV, could probably surmise that this particular childhood refrain has no place
in a court of law!)

The fact that 8 years elapsed between the time Baez finished law school and the date he first wrote the bar exam is not the only curious aspect of his dubious standing as a lawyer.

The fact that he has misrepresented his legal experience by listing the outcomes of cases he was involved with AS A STUDENT with his school’s legal clinic (where a student’s work is closely supervised by review counsel, and often involves little more than putting on a suit and observing experienced lawyers ‘do their thing’) is beneath contempt.

If such deceit is not grounds for disbarment in Florida, it ought to be!

Alas, the sooner Baez can be marginalized in this case (for example, via court appointed counsel), the better.

Indeed, it would be a terrible miscarriage of justice to allow the monstrous Casey Anthony to avail herself of the patently foreseeable ‘ineffective counsel’ claims that lie in almost every move that Baez makes (e.g. hiring incompetent, fly-by-night PR ‘firm’ that undermines his client on CNN) or fails to make (e.g. motion for speedy trial).

Give it up Baez! Even lowly St. Thomas law school grads are smart enough to see right through YOU and that tacky ‘coat of arms’ you lifted from the internet! (Apparently, your grasp of IP law is even weaker than your ‘knowledge’ of criminal law & procedure!)

I am surprised that the Anthony’s experienced lawyer hadn’t referred Casey to a better criminal defense attorney long before today unless they were going to try to argue ineffective assistance of counsel at some point.
And why is that guy always grinning like a Cheshire cat?
And why did it take Baez so long to tell Casey to get rid of those white glasses that she bought/stole from Target?

IN the end, it is a blessing because a direct result of Baez’s “mishandling” has been the ability to see EXACTLY what Casey thinks of this whole process and her reactions to the loss of her daughter.

Eqqusearch had to have already been aware of their money problems and the anthony family’s resistance well before they spent money to fly people to orlando on thursday.

what can i say? they had me at “didn’t report caylee missing (or even happen to mention anything to family or friends) for 31 days”.

I amdmire Tim and yes Caylee is not the only one needing his help…I just remember his words were they WOULD NOT LEAVE UNTIL SHE IS FOUND…I feel let down for caylee for whatever his reasons are.

We need a “Good Anonymous” who will at least equally fund the search for Caylee and those who are trying to find justice for her.

And putting all that aside, this isn’t the only case that badly needs Tim and his organization. I really would hate to see the Ants’ damage extend to EquuSearch’s future donations and efforts everywhere around the country.

So I can’t find fault with Tim. I just won’t.

Equusearch May Pull Out of Caylee Search

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) — Texas Equusearch, a non-profit group that is helping to organize searches for missing 3-year-old Orlando toddler Caylee Anthony, may be pulling out of Orlando for good.

“We gotta think about what’s good for Equusearch in these tough economic times, because people who donate money may not donate again if all our money goes to one person when there are more (missing persons) out there,” Equusearch founder Tim Miller told FOX 35 reporter Tracy Jacim in an exclusive interview on Sunday.

The fact that Miller says Equusearch has already spent $44,000 on the search for Caylee, only having recouped $5,000 from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and another $7,000 from private donations, and the fact that the Anthonys are not cooperating, is forcing Miller to reconsider continuing the search.

Miller flew into Orlando on Thursday with a few members of the group and a board director. New York Times bestselling author Judith McNaught is helping with the financing and came to support Tim in what she calls “a draining case.”

“I’m out here to write checks, that’s what the Board of Directors does, because we all want it to turn out so well,” said McNaught. “At the same time, this is the first time I’ve made a public appearance on any case, because he (Tim) is so exhausted,” she said, adding “I’m worried about our main resource.”

Tropical Storm Fay forced Miller and his team to table a search a few weeks ago. Since returning, Miller says he and about ten others have done small-scale searches with the Sheriff’s Office and have turned up nothing. He says water is still an issue too.

Miller says he’ll have his final decision Monday.

Caylee Anthony’s Mother Was a NoShow Today in Court

If Caylee was found I don’t think that it would be kept a sercet….They would have to at least make an annoucement that a body of remains were found…..

It’s too bad the standing water is slowing the search. I really had my hopes up.

You are right about the blog being slow. If Jan or Simon don’t write something quick, we won’t have anywhere to blog tomorrow.

That being said, I would like to update you on Texas EquuSearch and the search for Caylee.

I spoke with Tim Miller last night and he informed me that he is still not sure if now is the right time to resume the search. After exploring some of the search areas this weekend he found that there is still a lot of standing water, which could obstruct searchers from clearing those areas. In addition, the Orlando area has received a lot of rain in the last several days, further adding to the problem. Tim said that he is going to take all of this into consideration when making his final decision.

If Tim decides to continue the search, it will most likely resume after the hearing on Tuesday. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is busy preparing for Tuesday’s hearing and will be unavailable to help EquuSearch until after that session has adjourned.

Are you sure this is a recent post on ES website? The reason I ask is because C did call Tim weeks ago and asked him to come to Orlando and search and that weekend Beth Holloway did go to Orlando also.

Texas EquuSearch is officially going to Florida to help on the Caylee Anthony search. Caylee’s grandmother called our director, Tim Miller and Tim agreed that we could assist on the search. Beth Holloway, Natalee Holloway’s mother will be with us assisting this weekend. We need everyone’s special prayers on bringing Caylee home safely. Our children make up 25% of our population, but 100% of our future.
