In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago “New Party”. The ‘New Party’ was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999. By 1999, however, the Socialist ‘New Party’ was essentially defunct after losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations “fusion” reform platform as unconstitutional.
After allegations surfaced in early summer over the ‘New Party’s’ endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. The DSA and ‘New Party’ then systematically attempted to cover up any ties between Obama and the Socialist Organizations. However, it now appears that Barack Obama was indeed a certified and acknowledged member of the DSA’s New Party.
On Tuesday, I discovered a web page that had been scrubbed from the New Party’s website. The web page which was published in October 1996, was an internet newsletter update on that years congressional races. Although the web page was deleted from the New Party’s website, the non-profit Internet Archive Organization had archived the page.
So that’s what he means by “Change”, huh?
Obama’s links to Communist and Socialist organizations have been covered up by the campaign and fellow travelers, but apparently every time one is erased, two more spring up.
From the October 1996 Update of the DSA ‘New Party’:
“New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races…
Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).”
Just three years after Obama was elected as a member of the Socialist New Party, the party was eclipsed when the Supreme Court ruled the fusion concept unconstitutional.
What are the implications? Will the Mainstream Media, and especially the NY Times, stop its McCain-Palin attacks long enough to comment?
How will this be explained away? Can it be?

One of the problems is it appears this party was all about “fusion” tickets.
They could claim that Obama was a member, when the reality is he was just the candidate they supported.
McCain’s wheels are falling off the track.

Hannity has had this story. Apparently, a version of it appeared at Human Events months ago. However, it hit the conservative blogs yesterday and today.
I believe the author doesn’t understamd what the New Party’s Fusion-Ticket plank was about.
Here is the first line in the wikipedia article about Electoral Fusion:
“Electoral fusion is an arrangement where two or more political parties support a common candidate, pooling the votes for all those parties. By offering to endorse a major party’s candidate, minor parties can influence the candidate’s platform.”

… meaning that this fledgling third party just claimed this State Senator, who obviously ran as a Democrat, as one of their own.
In any case, who cares. Sweeden, Canada, England, Spain, Germany, and the United States are all already socialist to varying degrees.

What many on the one side do not understand are the several differences between who is who on their left. Democratic Socialist of America is not a “Party,” but a Political Action Committee of the Democratic Party’s left-wing and only overlaps Social Democrats which to the hard-left (communist) use the term “social fascist.” What the New York State, Working Families Party did was have a fusion ticket which is similar to instant runoff voting (cirv.org) some are trying to get back in other states. It amazes me and others how much people do not know before commenting on blogs. The IQ of America has dropped so low, no wonder it is falling apart.
