A Christmas Carol for Annie

Back when I was much younger, when the winter was dragging on up here in the north part of the American Midwest, we would always run out of movies to watch.  Being industrious, my siblings and I would then start watching all the movies we had which dealt with the topic of Christmas.  Inevitably, watching those movies would make us all long for the holiday season and then we’d feel sad that it was so far away.  Now there’s a new film out which must be watched only around that holiday season.

Starting this October 7th, now available on DVD from PorchLight Home Entertainment comes a look into the true meaning of Christmas from your favorite group of animals and moral teachings.  Adventures From The Book Of Virtues – A Christmas Carol For Annie is ready to burst into your living room and show you what that snowier time of year is really all about.  Bring home this holiday DVD today!

Zach and Annie, after having met them in other installments of this show on PBS, still live in Spring Valley and are still learning how to best live their lives.  This disc contains three segments which show how and what they learn.  In “A Christmas Carol For Annie,” a two-part episode, Annie is now the president of the Drama Club and is all about making money for the club.  This, of course, prompts a visit from Ebenezer Scrooge.  In “The Gift Of The Magi,” we learn about doing all we can to help others and that it’s the thought which really does matter.

The one special feature included in this DVD is that all three segments of this film are also dubbed into Spanish, making it the perfect gift for your bilingual children.

I love the two main stories on this disc.  I think Charles Dickens is incredible and that the world could use some more Dickens.  Also, the O. Henry story is probably in my top ten or twenty short stories and one of the first to ever utilize the twist ending.  This film is a great way to get your kids excited about the holiday season and help them to become better people.

This holiday season, help the whole family sing a Carol they’ll all enjoy.
