Funny, we saw the same shoddy goods in Mongolia. I've been looking around the stores in San Diego, since I've been back stateside and seen identical products to the crap which has flooded the asian markets and actually work for longer than a few days. I'm sure you can imagine the high standards the goods intended for the Mongolian market are held to.
China seems to be stuck on a two pot system which reserves the crap for their closest neighbors, while the true export goods have a "higher" standard. In my opinion, the export stuff is still crap, but not as crappy as what the pacific rim sees. Thanks for the fine olympic games, but don't plan on joining the civilized world any time soon. I'm so glad my dear wife held out for breast milk instead of chinese powder.
