Australian model Miranda Kerr is sure to make it onto most peoples “Top 10 beautiful people” lists, but who would the beauty place on her list. theage.com.au fills us in:

1. Audrey Hepburn
Star of classic film ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ (1961) and today regarded universally as one of America’s iconic actors, Hepburn is loved by Kerr for her inner beauty as well as her grace and elegance.

“She’s a timeless beauty and she didn’t take herself too seriously. I’ve read a couple of books that were written about her and I learned that she never really thought of herself as a beautiful woman because she had a small frame and, back in that time, there were more voluptuous women around”. Revealed Kerr.

“She had a unique innocence about her and a child-like purity and the fact she wasn’t so into herself makes her more beautiful.”

Hepburn died in 2003 at the age of 63. Although most remembered for her classic role as Holly Gollightley in ‘Breakfast At Tiffanys’, of which she stated was “the jazziest of [her] career”, Hepburn starred in countless classics, such as ‘Sabrina’ and ‘Roman Holiday’ and remains a role model to many still today.

2. Sarah Murdoch
Former model and now wife of Lachlan Murdoch, the 36-year-old Sarah Murdoch is another of Kerr’s beautiful picks; this time for her “great nature”.

Kerr says: “Her spirit really shines through and her eyes sparkle. It’s great how much charity work she does and she is always smiling. Plus I think that many women can relate to her because she is not intimidating at all; she’s extremely welcoming and down to earth.”

Murdoch is known for her great work with charity organisations and is not only the official Ambassador for the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (the largest of its kind in Australia) but is also a patron of Australia’s National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Amongst the models feats, lay modelling contracts with labels such as Revlon, Ralph Lauren, Estee Lauder and Bonds.
3. Anne Kerr
Stealing another spot on Kerr’s list, with Kerr describing her as a “beautiful and classy woman”, comes Anne Kerr – Miranda’s grandmother.

“I love her. I can see her soul through her eyes and she cares so deeply about everyone and really wants to make everyone happy,” Miranda says.

Miranda says that her grandmother also has more than a beautiful heart but also is beautiful in appearances – with her beautiful long legs, sky-blue eyes and a natural rose colour in her cheeks.

“And she always has a little heel on; she’s very chic.” Miranda adds.

According to Miranda, her grandmother’s favourite pastime is cooking and says she loves having people over to spoil. So what is Anne Kerr’s signature dish?

“What doesn’t she cook best?” her granddaughter says. “She cooks so much; fresh fish with roast vegetables, and she makes a really good meat pie. I don’t even eat meat very often but when I go home and see her, she will make one anyway. Even if she makes me Vegemite on toast, I can taste the difference between when she makes it and when someone else does – it’s so much better than mine, too.”

4. Heidi Klum
Kerr’s fellow Victoria’s Secret model and host/executive producer of America’s Project Runway, Klum is a successful businesswoman and Kerr says she is a natural beauty.

“I know her personally and she has a great sense of humour and a great attitude,” Kerr comments.

“She is always ready to go in life; nothing is stopping that one. She’s a mother, too, and manages to combine her work and family life very well.”

Today, the 35-year-old model holds second place on American magazine Forbes’s 2008 list of the world’s top-earning models, with an estimated $14 million under her belt. Klum, who is married to Seal and has 3 children (2 to Seal and 1 from a previous relationship with Formula One manager Flavio Briator), has made countless appearances on just about every international fashion magazine, including ‘Vogue’, ‘Marie Claire’ and ‘Elle’, since making her biggest splash back in 1998, flaunting her curvaceous bikini-bearing body on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue . Klum’s fame doesn’t stop there however, emanating even in botany. The model had a plant named after her – the Heidi Klum rose, grown in Germany, where Klum was born and raised.
5. Cate Blanchett
Another of our nation’s proud representatives, golden girl Cate Blanchett gets Kerr’s nod of approval as “a classic beauty”.

Kerr holds no underestimation to Blanchett’s beauty saying: “The way she carries herself is quite appealing and there’s just something about her. Her eyes are amazing, aren’t they, that icy blue colour which I find quite intriguing. That flawless skin is an added bonus, too.”

There is no denying however, that Blanchett is more than beauty, but also brains and talent. Blanchett, 39, is universally renowned for her remarkable versatility on the big screen, commitment to the Australian arts scene and that exquisite porcelain skin, Alongside her prestigious career also juggles caring for threesons, with husband Andrew Upton.

Blanchett was named one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine last year and also posed for an Archibald-nominated portrait in 2006.

6.Christy Turlington
Renowned as one of the world’s first supermodels, Kerr believes Turlington has and will always be a great role model for young girls.

“She reflects a wholesome beauty image because she is really into looking after herself and her general wellbeing and she is into yoga. She manages to successfully balance her work and personal life, too,” Kerr says.

The 39-year-old mother-of-two has long been an international face for Calvin Klein’s perfume line and has also signed several multimillion-dollar contracts with labels such as Maybelline, Giorgio Armani and Chanel. Vodianova stands as the 7th highest-earning model in the world, according to Forbes 2008 list of the world’s top-earning models. Her earnings for the past year were approximated to $4.5 million.

The 26-year-old model was also ranked 14th in Channel 5’s “World’s greatest supermodel”.

With her undeniable fresh-faced looks, Vodianova has won a lengthy string of modelling contracts during her career, including deals with Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, L’Oreal and Calvin Klein.

Vodianova is married to a British real-estate heir and the couple have three children.

8. Ziyi Zhang
Chinese actress and global ambassador for the Special Olympics, Ziyi Zhang makes an appearance of Kerr’s list for her natural energy and “striking features”.

Kerr says Zhang radiates on the big screen. “I’m all about a person’s energy and she seems very natural and at ease within herself,” Kerr says. “She particularly carried herself well in Memoirs Of A Geisha and also has quite striking features.”

Zhang, 29, leapt to international fame with her lead performance in Memoirs Of A Geisha in 2005, which won her a Golden Globe nomination. The actress also starred in countless other popular films, such as ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’, ‘Hero’ and ‘House Of Flying Daggers’.

Zhang has also served as a face for brands ‘Garnier ‘and ‘Maybelline’ in recent years.

9. Sophia Loren
Though now 73 years of ago, 50’s actress Sophia Loren is still regarded as one of the world’s greatest sex symbols. According to Kerr Loren reamins a complete package, with her va-va-voom figure (complemented by her to-die-for bust), her seductive Italian accent, her flawless European features and an astonishingly sharp tongue to rival any man’s.

“She is very glamorous, she has a lot of charisma and she is really sexy but she maintains class at the same time,” Kerr says. “Loren isn’t tacky; she still combines sexiness and class in an elegant way.”

Don’t quite believe all the appraisal? Well here’s a story for you. Back in the days, renowned ’50s screen god Cary Grant reportedly fell so madly in love with Loren on the set of one of their films that he proposed to her. She declined and instead married the late Italian director Carlo Ponti.

In more recent times however, the star has appeared in the famous Pirelli calendar alongside stars including Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts and Jane Birkin’s daughter Lou Doillon.

According to Loren herself: “Everything you see, I owe to spaghetti.”

10. Daria Werbowy
Last but not least, is Polish born Canadian-Ukranian model Daria Werbowy, who Kerr adores for her ‘sense of style’.

“She’s such a cool girl and such a beautiful girl. I’ve seen her in real life and Daria has a really individual flair for fashion,” Kerr says.

The 28-year-old brunette-bombshell was named by Forbes as 2008’s ninth highest-earning supermodel in the world and was inducted to Canada’s Walk of Fame on June 3. Though she no longer holds the status as the world’s No.1 runway model, Werbowy remains the holder of the international record for opening and closing the greatest number of runway shows in one season.

Over her career, Werbowy has modelled for countless labels ranging from Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Hermes, Valentino, Missoni, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
