Broussca I would have to agree with poster above. I wonder if you have ever had a child?

If you had you would know that any 17 year girl knows what's best for them and it may not be what they were taught. I mean don't you remember what it was like to be 17?? I surely didn't follow my mom's teachings or advice!

But I will tell you now I am probably MORE conservative than my mom! Her daughter was planning to marry this boy before she got pregnant. The entire TOWN knew about the pregnancy so it wasn't hidden. I can't believe how many women are pissed off that Sarah chose to bring a child into the world and care for it. She didn't put the kid up for adoption she isn't on welfare trying to make more money. She loves her CHILD.. and for other women to say she should have aborted a defective baby. Wow.. that is just so wrong. As a mom myself I can't imagine what it would be like to find out a child I was carrying was sick (with Down's or any other disease) and it would be up to my and my family to decide what is best for us. I really don't think it's right for you or any other women to say she should have aborted a baby that was a "burdern" I mean where do we go from that? A women at 80 doesn't deserve health care because she is too old????

Sarah believes the world is 6,000 years old. She is against choice even in the cases of rape and incest, she asks that we "respect" her daughters "decision" BUT would see that judges are appointed that would REFUSE to allow my daughter the right to "choose." She believes the war is a challenge from "God." She wants "God" to support her choice for a pipeline in Alaska.

The woman is not STUPID she is just OUTRAGIOUSLY IGNORANT. Surely, America has had enough of ignorant.

betabel fep: In the beginning The Stiletto was not in Hillary's corner because she felt her candidacy was based solely on her husband's coattails. But as the primary season wore on and she won debate after debate against Obama (once Edwards dropped out and she was able to go one-on-one with him) and her toughness towards the end, she won The Stiletto's admiration and respect. She probably could have beaten McCain. Obama missed a big opportunity to put a her on the ballot and now that he is not the only "historical candidate" in the race I bet he wishes he had put her on the ballot.

broussca: Name one thing Steinem has done for women with children - esp women with special needs children. Nothing. Special needs children are supposed to be aborted because they will be a drag on the mother's life. And if you actually use your womb to bear children then you're on your own since Steinem has not been able to accomplish something as simple as employer-provided daycare.

Finally you have no way of knowing whether Bristol and her boyfriend were using birth control so your points regarding the pregnancy are invalid.

Why's everyone picking on Gloria Steinem....she's the sacrifical lamb the rightwing has decided to hold up as their straw dog? This is one feminist who thinks Sarah Palin is off the deep end. She's exploiting her daughter, Bristol, and her son, Trig, for her political gain. She is hypocritical. Her government insurance will pay for her daughter's birth and her wellbeing, yet Palin cuts $$ to young mothers in need. Palin denounces birth control and sings the abstinance song, yet her own daughter gets pregnant. It's likely she wouldn't have if she'd had birth control. This woman does not promote family values. Nowhere near it.

Read this for your daughters!

Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are proof that women can and do diverge on important issues.

Even on the question of whether women should vote!

Most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won votes for women, and what life was REALLY like for women before they did.

Suffragettes were opposed by many women who were what was known as 'anti.'

The most influential 'anti' lived in the White House. First Lady Edith Wilson was a wealthy Washington widow who married President Wilson in 1915.

Her role in Wilson's decision to jail and torture Alice Paul and hundreds of other suffragettes will never be fully known, but she was outraged that these women picketed her husband's White House.

I'd like to share a women's history learning opportunity...

"The Privilege of Voting" is a new free e-mail series that follows eight great women from 1912 - 1920 to reveal ALL that happened to set the stage for women to win the vote.

It's a real-life soap opera! And it's ALL true!

Powerful suffragettes Alice Paul and Emmeline Pankhurst are featured, along with TWO gorgeous presidential mistresses, First Lady Edith Wilson, Edith Wharton, Isadora Duncan and Alice Roosevelt.

There are tons of heartache on the rocky road to the ballot box, but in the end, women WIN!

Thanks to the suffragettes, women have voices and choices!

Exciting, sequential episodes are great to read on coffeebreaks, or anytime.

pretty stupid, axe murdering women also are female.

Palin just happens to be female but her politics are the same as men in her ilk. Oh what a surprise. Someone you never heard of two weeks ago, who meant absolutely nothing then, from a state you only vaguely know the location of, now she is superwoman, great.

Some one less experienced than all three of tehse candidates, lead her National Guard to Iraq? Fights Ruddia in the Aleutians? Any more nonsense you need to bring up?

Oh yeah, home schools her kids and teaches abstinance education. Her one pupil is prgnant at 17.

Great leadership there, isn't it?

The world and history will see what a joke this is even if you don't What if she became president? You think this is a movie with a script?

She probably is closer to teh ignorant typical American than Hillary (who you made believe that you liked)
