I'm actually shocked at how anyone could call themselves a feminist and approve of Sarah's handling? When the dust settles, I'd love to see a discussion of this topic.

I'm surprised at my own elected official that has agreed to be part of a "truth squad".

Honestly, while some will say "we've turned a corner". I think there is MUCH, MUCH more to say. Regrettably, we have a long way to go in terms of discourse. I think there's A LOT to talk about, but some of those issues are so "hot" one dare not touch them. If I do talk about certain issues, I'll be labeled. XX.
What I most resent, is MEN handing out the rules of what we can do, say and think.

Palin puts women's right back a 100 years. Banning books, going back to work 3 days after having a newborn, many women juggle work and motherhood because they financial have to. Women have fought so hard to get paid time off of work, for sexual freedom. That poor infant being dragged around at the loud convention. Her poor teenage daughter being taught abstinence...it didn't even work for her own daughter, What a hypocrite, and we are supposed to think the daughter is doing something right thing by getting married at 17 and having a child, Shjhe still had unprotected sex out of wedlock. Is that the Christian way? Let's hope her daughter didn't get an STD too. Palin is an animal killer and she thinks It's okay to kill a living helpless animals who have no choice but women have no choice what happens to their bodies. What is wrong with this woman and why would anyone support her. She is a complete hypocrite and everything that is wrong with this country.

Please look up Feminist then Integrity then Hypocrite and make up your own mind. Poor Obama is in the sad position of being the canvas that the left projected so much hope onto. This bubble grew within the safety of the media orgy then... along came Sara (pop)
Now Obama all by himself has to turn it around.
Good luck rookie because the media party is over. its just you.

Typically, many Americans are still playing identity politics, focusing on gender as a leading factor rather than qualifications. We act as if we lead in powerful women and how "barn burning" that McCain has chosen a woman when in fact Democrats chose a female VP 24 years ago. The world has already seen female leaders, both good and bad, yet here we still seem to think that it somehow qualifies or does not qualify someone. While the conservatives are now embracing Palin, let's not forget the virulent sexist attacks (not policy) they leveled at Clinton while she was running, demonstrating hypocrsy and a double standard. And if Ms. Cordero truly believes that liberals or the left advocate anorexic, scantily clad women, I have to conclude she either knows nothing about liberal or left values and/or she's been brainwashed by those who pimp their products for such insecure females along with buying into reductionism. Simplistic answers to complex situations, time and again, simply produce even more complex problems.

Back in 1966, we in India had the original Sarah Palin --- Indira Gandhi. Draped in 11 yards of sari material and shivering with shyness, she concealed a steely resolve that was previously unknown in Indian national affairs. Unlike Sarah Palin, there were no moving speeches from her initially. In fact her quietude earned her the opprobrium "goongi gudia" or "dumb doll". Granted, she had a bye to the Prime Ministership of the world's biggest democracy, but getting there and staying there beyond 24 hours are two different things in Indian politics. She combatted crafty politicians from her father's generation for surivival, split her party and had only her instinct as guide. And did she beat the opposition? She also went on to win two landslide victories, then was defeated and eventually returned to power through another historic win. Indira Gandhi hated feminists and made her distaste for early Indian bra burners quite apparent. Yet, she pushed for women's emancipation and freed India's weaker sex from centuries of psychological bondage.
