SHARPES FERRY – Marion County sheriff’s officials confirmed Monday that the torso found in the Ocklawaha River on Sunday afternoon is human.

Sheriff’s Office crews arrived at the Sharpes Ferry bridge at daybreak Monday to search for other evidence near where the body was found. The sheriff’s Field Force Team searched the banks of the river while divers felt their way through the muddy water.

“We want to cover all the area between Sharpes Ferry and State Road 40,” said Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jimmy Pogue. “The search is more difficult because of all the recent rain we’ve had. The banks of the river have been extended by 20 feet.”

Pogue said the Sheriff’s Office was called by a boater who found the torso about 300 yards north of the Sharpes Ferry bridge Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. The torso was taken to the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy is being performed today. Pogue said it was too early to tell any details about the body.

In the meantime, the sheriff’s officials set up shop on the bridge to organize a full search for any additional evidence.

“We have two boats in the water, plus our 12-member field force team, and we have the helicopter out with spotters in it,” Pogue said. “We want as many eyes on the area as possible.”

Divers in the river had to rely more on their sense of touch than sight as they combed through the black water on Monday.

“You can’t see a thing,” said Sheriff’s Office diver Aaron Levy. “Everything is completely black. It’s all about feel right now.”

The incident was reported at about 2:25 p.m. after the boater found partial remains on the water’s edge, about 300 yards north of the bridge, Marion County sheriff’s deputies said.

The identity and sex of the remains are unknown, and it’s not known if the remains are that of a child or an adult, deputies said.

Investigators are searching for additional remains with the assistance of two dive teams, K-9 units and field-force units.

MMT, knowing that she has the nerve to pull weeds in her front yard, rather than and to to quote C, “turning over every rock” is very upsetting…

There is something that is inherently wrong - she knows something or believes that caylee is dead… and for lawyering up… we’ll, they may not have been slapped with anything as of yet, but I think they stepped into something very smelling when cleaning the pants and knife and who knows what else…
I would love to see what the contents of momsters purse was? receipts, etc?

About the Tattoo parlor. I though monster even said that she was going to bring Caylee along on the 19th.

To tell you the truth… that makes me so angry to see her out there and home all day and not lifting a finger to help find Caylee.

Normally on relatively small charges like this, defendant will plea guilty/or no contest providing some charges will be dropped. In other words a deal with the prosecutor and the defendant’s lawyer prior to arraignment.
It is common for the police to come up with as many charges as possible, than drop a lot of them during the plea bargaining/no contest plea..
Next is just arraignment/sentencing at the same time. Followed by jail and/ or probation/fine. All this stuff has been already pre agreed on as part of plea bargaining. At least that is how it works in PA.
This is a different ball game though. Monster will still stay out of jail at least till the trial, followed by sentencing(if any).
That could be a few months in the future, depending how busy the court is.
Monster/BB can elect a trial by Jury. This might prove to be quite an unusual/interesting trial.
Frankly, I am surprised, thought that BB would make a deal and monster probably could have gotten off with a fine/probation as a first time offender. Very unusual I think.

Tatoo’s are expensive.

I don’t see anything wrong w/Cindy weeding (of course she isn’t looking for Caylee-she knows Caylee is gone) They’ve been holed up in that house with monster for weeks. Cindy doesn’t dare drive to a mall and has no one to visit. Weeding is about all there is to do outside the house—even if she does enjoy getting into scraps with the protestors.

I read a police report about the tatoo incident. Two guys that monster knew from high school worked at the tatoo parlor named Sean and Jonathon Daly. Monster had her first tatoo done on July 2nd or 3rd not by either of them. The tatoo said Bella Vita. The owner Denny Colmarino said that monster made another appointment for Saturday July 19th, and that she was going to bring someone with her to have another tatoo done. She did not mention who she was going to bring and she did not leave a picture of the tatoo that she desired.

i was just putting in my own thought, i guess if the lady who microwaved her little one didn’t plea insanity, then their is hope…and she got life w/o!

in a way i hope they do plead this way then use your post from above and slap in right back at her….hahe

once you plea insanity i don’t believe you can retract that or can you?

I hope she gets both personally….

He very well may see no way to win this case except by proving prosecution made too many baubles and get a hung jury. (or better yet ask for a mistrial). That way he gets his fame and by the time it goes another round, give the case to someone else.

insanity will get her a lesser sentence, and maybe a minimum security facility…or an insane institute

i do however agree with you….and hope to god the can convict and convict to the max, even after a insanity plea you can still get the max

I couldn’t really couldn’t tell from that angle. They always have reporters at those vigils. Let me know your thought on that.

they are going to have a very hard time proving insanity. She was partying the whole time, dressed to the hilt, cooking/cleaning for friends, using a computer/cell phone/car daily, able to write checks, buy groceries etc. etc…
Fear didn’t keep her from going home without Caylee June 24 (when George found gas cans in her trunk)
Fear didn’t keep her from dancing the night away June 6, 13, 20 (documented) or at that sleazehole where the dance pole is.
Fear didn’t keep her from peeing in the parking lot.
Fear didn’t keep her from writing checks and NOT spending it to find Caylee as she stated.

But drugs/alcohol may come into play.

However, Baez is going to have his work cut out for him. Casey would NEVER want to be pegged insane. She thinks she has a beautiful life ahead of her. She wouldn’t want drugs/alcohol brought in either. I imagine she is sitting there in Baez’s office saying the same thing she told in the beginning “I gave Caylee to Zenaida” Baez may have to go to court with just that story alone, because I don’t see Casey agreeing to anything except that story, no matter what the DNA shows.

if dad’s not working and with only one income, looks like a pretty well-to-do neighborhood, how are they affording all this…i mean before all of this happened?
