According to CNN’s Headlines News and WFTV.com, a hair sample taken from 22-year-old Casey Anthony’s car, reveals that it came from Casey’s missing 3-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony, and shows signs of decomposition. This comes just one day after the results of an air sample taken from the car, revealed that a decomposing body had been stored in the trunk.
The young Florida mother made headlines earlier this summer when she didn’t report her daughter missing for more than a month. By most accounts, Caylee has been missing since June 15.
Or June 6, 7, 9, or 24 - depending on which story Casey is using.
The girl was eventually reported as missing on July 15.
The little girl’s grandmother, Cindy Anthony, was actually the one who made a frantic phone call to 911 after she realized her granddaughter had been missing. Since that time, Casey has not cooperated with investigators, even after spending about a month in jail. According to Casey, she knows who has her child but can’t say in order to protect the little girl. Time and time again Casey has said that she could help in the search for her child if they would release her from jail.
Last week, her chance to save her daughter came when she was released from the Orange County jail after famous bounty hunter Leonard Padilla and his nephew Tony Padilla flew to Florida from California, to bond her out. Padilla said he believed he would be able to work with Casey and find her daughter within a week. But it didn’t take long for Leonard Padilla to regret his decision, telling various news outlets that Casey was not cooperating with him either and that she hasn’t even mentioned her daughter since being released from jail. Now, according to The Orlando Sentinel, her bond is being revoked and she will be sent back to jail.
She shouldn’t have been let out to begin with.
Casey has proven that she can’t be trusted. Before going to jail, Casey lied again and again to investigators. She took investigators to Universal Studios, saying that she was taking them to her office, but on the way through the lot to her so-called “office” she told the investigators that she didn’t actually work there. She has claimed that Caylee was with a babysitter and took investigators to the sitter’s apartment complex, but the apartment the sitter supposedly lived in had been vacant for months. I can only wonder how Casey Anthony could even afford childcare if she didn’t even have a job - although she did have enough time and money to party during her child’s disappearance, as shown in recent photographs.
I also wonder about her parents, particularly her mother, Cindy Anthony, who could be the poster child for denial. In Cindy Anthony’s 911 call, she frantically says that her daughter’s car smells like a dead body, only to tell the media later on that it was a rotting pizza that was causing the smell. Casey’s father is a former cop, so I assume he must realize things are not adding up.
Then again, nobody in this family seems to make much sense.
I once sympathized with Casey’s parents, but now, I can’t help but wonder how much they really know.
Meanwhile, I didn’t care for Padilla at all, thinking he was just getting involved for the publicity, but after hearing him speak on Nancy Grace and other news outlets, I feel that publicity or not, he truly believed at one point that Caylee was alive and he could help find her. I can hear the frustration in his voice and I see how annoyed he is at Casey. I feel more for him than I do the Anthony’s (except for Caylee, of course).
On her MySpace page, just 7 days before her daughter was finally reported as missing, Casey Anthony wrote a poem that read, “What is given, can be taken away. Everyone lies. Everyone dies.”
Something is not right in the neighborhood.
Casey appears to be a self-absorbed spoiled brat. Cindy Anthony reportedly told a friend that her daughter was a sociopath. She may defend her daughter in public, but what’s going on behind closed doors may be another story.
While bonding her out of jail was a bad move, sending Casey back to jail is the right thing to do. Unfortunately though, it may not be enough to get her to talk. According to WFTV, prosecutors are willing to discuss granting limited immunity to Casey in order to get her to reveal the whereabouts of her daughter. Whether or not the offer is going to be given, let alone taken, remains to be seen, but the fact remains that for now, a little 3-year-old girl is out there somewhere, and she needs to be brought back home where she belongs.
I can only hope that somewhere along the way, Casey will find a heart and finally show some love for someone other than herself.

yeah i believe her parents know a whole lot more than what the are saying. to have that many phone calls to her parents on whatever day it was. there was one call after another. then the mother after saying it smells like a dead body in the car. she knows investigators are coming and the husband use to be in the detective devision you would think to know not to mess with evidence. but cindy just decides to pull the clothes out of the trunk and wash them cause they were dirty. hmmmm. yeah. i believe mommy and daddy have alot more to tell. you can tell they are trying to cover for casey.

I agree with everyone. I believe that this whole family has some huge issues, and they all need help. As far as Casey, she deserves to rot away for what she has done. I do not understand why all this evidence is out in the open and she still gets to have the comfort of living at home.

I learned about this case when Casey’s parents first went public. Think it was on FOX channel, I may be mistaken.
I never knew about this case before and as i listened to them, the way they answered questions, it was obvious to me that they were acting and couldn’t believe it was not a show and it was a serious interview.
Come on people… These people are habitual liars, what mother what daughter. Plus the dad worked in the law enforcement and knows “something” about how to cover up a crime: no body - no crime. She won’t say where she buried the girl and no one will ever prove that the girl is dead, unless grandparents confess to it.

Well, well well. After my initial sighting of this Casey girl, all I could think is that she is the female version of Scott Peterson, the denying murderer of his pregnant wife. Remember how he wined and dined his mistress while searchers were diving for his wife’s decomposing body and that of his unborn son???
Casey’s dad has known all along that his daughter has been untruthful, and as a former police officer, he knows of her guilt. Thus, he has remained quiet. The mother’s means for survival is denial. Although this is unacceptable, it is understandable. As a mother, while you are facing your daughter, somehow there must be floodings of all the flashbacks of her life before you (the precious ones…i.e. birthday parties, school plays, first steps etc) I can understand the parents emotional rollercoaster. They are looking at their daughter knowing she is a monster (geez imagine the guilt they feel as parents!) and at the same time they are wanting to run away with her and go back 20 years and start over.
As i think of my three daughters 18, 22 and 25, I can just imagine what it must feel like looking at one of them knowing they are headed for life in prison and the death penaly. Painful. Truly painful for the parents.

So Yesterday while reading the latest news on this case about the DNA of hair samples and evidence of a body decomposing in the truck, my four year old son walks up and looks at the picture of precious little Caylee and says “mom, who is that little girl?” and I said “no-one honey”. He says, “oh, it’s just a girl looking pretty?” and I told him that indeed it was little girl looking pretty. My first thoughts immediately after were, “how could anyone murder their own flesh and blood?” I mean I couldn’t even beging to explain to my child that this little girl had been murdered by her mother. I for one, know my children know that I would die for them and that if anything ever happened to them I would die because as I have told them so many times “I cannot live without my heart”. I also know the horror of looking away for a minute only to look back and realize my child wasn’t there. I know the panic, the franticness, and the feeling of pure dread that overcomes a mother when she realizes something has happened to her child. WHY?? why would a mother wait 31 days to report her child missing and be so cold, callous, and un-cooperative if not only to cover up for herself? The other thing that is so puzzling to me, (which I have not even heard anyone else say) is the shovel. What in the world would a 22 year old woman need a shovel for?? That to me should clasify as circumstantial evidence along with the DNA and chemical testing. I have no doubt that Ms. Anthony will maintain her innocence and this little girl’s body will never be found (so sad) but I do believe that she will not be the first nor the last person to be convicted on circumstantial evidence.

It is killing me that she is out in the elements. My grandmother heart wants her, however she is, to be lovingly picked up and brought to a clean, safe place for a proper burial. I want her to be acknowledged as a beautiful WANTED child, at least by those of us who have and are now grieving for her.

Cindy Anthony REALLY needs to wake up and come to terms with the fact that her daughter not only allowed/caused Caylee’s death, but also placed that poor child’s lifeless body in the trunk of a car like garbage while going out to party and sleep around for a MONTH. The true focus needs to be on forcing Casey to face the consequences of her despicable actions. With the flurry of unanswered calls Casey made to her parents on June 16th, I really believe the child’s death probably was accidental as a result of neglect or abuse (i.e., leaving her unattended somewhere or a fit of rage by Casey that was fatal). If she purposely killed her daughter, I doubt she would call in a panic like that. It’ll be interesting to see what bizarre statements come from her parents and attorney over the next few days unless the attorney can convince her to stop spreading lie after lie after lie…

Hopefully there is enough evidence now to put Casey away for along time with or without a body. As to the grandparents/brother, I still have sympathy for them. Well, Baez & the monster has duped Padilla again! He had a chance to somewhat redeem himself and his “associates” but wimped out. Baez probably threatened to have charges brought against him for impeding the investigation or some other BS. And to think I was actually gaining a tiny bit of respect for him. I will wait to hear the reason, but I knew something was fishy last night when he said he was going to let her have today to meet with Baez and send her back on Saturday. BS! She can meet with Baez anytime, any place…In fact, it appears that if she’s not at his office, he’s at her home…Wonder if he’s married because he may not be for long. What a disappointment!!!

A lot of things just aren’t making sense. I’m begining to wonder if the parents are trying to help cover up something for Casey. Casey’s father an ex-cop, he’s got to know more or at least suspect it by now. I don’t understand why, after it was released that a dead body had been in the car, why did the parents contact a group in Texas to come down to help search for Caylee. I think the cop in George knows the more people messing around there the more likely that evidence will be walked over and messed up by these amatuers, and that will help either get Casey off the hook or a mis-trial later down the road.

I don’t believe in the “bad seed” theory. In order for Casey to grow up to be a psychopath, she had to come from a dysfunctional family. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, or so they say.
Just look at Cindy. She’s obviously grief stricken but she continues to lie to herself. I don’t believe she’s trying to “lie” or fool anybody. I think she doesn’t have a good grasp on reality and she says what she believes. It would be way too painful for her to believe what the signs are pointing to. She’s not able to face reality, and it’s probably a life-long pattern (personality disorder).
My guess is that Casey’s dad was your typical cop, and work came before family. He didn’t have much of an influence on Casey’s development. Without a father, kids sometimes don’t learn that there are limits to what will be tolerated.
Her mom, on the other hand, was everything to Casey, and they had an enmeshed relationship, which didn’t allow Casey to grow up.
Casey appears to be an extremely immature, narcissistic psychopath. Maybe she neglected Caylee to death by keeping her in a car seat in a hot car for days, or maybe she found a way to kill her in retaliation for stealing her mother’s heart away.
If Casey Anthony gets released once again, her parents should tell her to go live somewhere else! They need to wash their hands of her. They’re getting close to obstruction charges themselves. Were I in their shoes, I’d hire my own attorney. It’s ‘telling’ that Cindy Anthony washed crucial evidence from the back of the murder car. INCREDIBLE!

I guess I don’t watch enough prime time TV to agree with many of the opinions on here. It’s as if the entire Anthony family is becoming part of a made for soap box commercials type family in lieu of the talk shows that debate issues such as ‘Who’s your Daddy?’
This is a tragic ending far worse than that of the missing child, or any other missing children in the future.
Well, I personally have just about had it with all of this ridiculous nonsense! Cindy & Georg Anthony should be arrested and brought up on charges with their crazy daugher Casey.
First of all, Cindy & George knew that their daughter was a self-centered, lying, manipulative loser with mental issues a long time ago. Parents know when their children are screwed up. Cindy never should have forced Casey to give birth to Caylee. I know you will all hate me when I say that she should have either ended the pregnancy or given thechild up for adoption. But had either oe of those scenarios been the case we wouldn’t be talking about this right now.
The fact that Cindy Anthony allowed poor little Casey to be brought into this world tells me a lot about her and her lack of parenting skills. This was a second chance for Cindy Anthony to have a little girl of her own and hopefully to raise the child to be the daughter that she wanted when she had Casey and failed miserably.
Casey Anthony never should have been left alone with little Caylee.
The fact that Cindy Anthony was heard on the 911 call when holding to be transferred to another person telling Casey “I gave you 30 days to find her (Caylee) tells me that Cindy & George knew Caylee was missing. They should have immediately gone to the police about it. Never mind waiting and giving stupid Casey a chance to find Caylee. That is insane.
Cindy’s statement that “I found my daughters car today and the damne car smells like a dead body” is also an indicator that she knows her daughter Casey did something to Caylee.
The parents, expecially Cindy have changed their statements over and over again. And in Cindy’s last statement after Casey was again arrested I find it very interesting that both attorney Baez and Cindy Anthony state that “there is more about this case that “they” know but they are not talking. So obviously Casey has told them more stories or maybe grandma Cindy and grandpa George have known more from day 1.
I praise Padilla’s bond people in Texas for revoking their bond on Casey. She neer should have been released. And if I had any say in the matter Casey Anthony would sit in jail for the rest of her life, or until she told what happened and where Caylee is.
Any mother who even possibly harmed their child in a fit of rage or by accident would have called 911 immediately. They would have put their well being aside and made every attempt to help their child. Caylee was not kidnapped, or left with a babysitter or friend.
She most probably was left alone in a hot car and died while mom Casey was “partying”. Or quite possibly she ingested something while with mom Casey at one our her parties with her friends and overdosed.
She probably drove around with Caylee’s poor dead body in the car for days. And it would be safe to say that she moved the dead little girl around with her. She probably put her in the back yard in or around the playhouse. That would be the reason the dogs picked up hher scent there. When she felt it was too close to home she probably put the little girl into the trunk and moved her elsewhere. She probably had the dead Caylee’s body in her car when she was “clubbing” and at some point I would say that Caylee probably was dumped in a dumpster somewhere in the Orlando area and is probably long gone in one of the trash dumps in or around the Orlando Kissimmee area and will never be found.
Bottom line - Casey will never talk!! She knows too much about how the police work with her father being with the police for many years and the fact that she probably had little affairs with various young police officers and questioned them about situations such as this and the probabilities of finding a dead body if the person responsible never talks.
Like I said - she is just another Scott Peterson. All she cares about is Casey - she uses everyone who comes in contact with her. The Anthony family have to be the biggest group of pathological liars I believe I have ever seen in my 56 years on this earth.
Oh and as far as Caylee’s father goes. Nobody knows who that baby’s father is. The dead guy’s family said their son was NOT the father. Has anybody other than me thought that maybe George Anthony is the father of Caylee? It’s really strange that he seems to be the only one in that family who actually shows more emotion when Caylee’s name is brought up. Anything is possible in this crazy family. It could even be the brother’s baby - hence Cay (Casey) Lee (Lee).
Casey is a flat out liar. I believe that little Caylee is still alive but Casey is covering it up. She should stay in jail until she can learn to start telling the truth.
I am a mother of two daughter. I raised them to be good/honest and believing in God. Kids change when they grow up. I don’t blame the parents.However, I was sorry for Cindy at the beginning but know I don’t she is liar like her daughter. I know she is trying to procted her daughter but it does not make sense her stories. George I feel sorry for you. You know the truth.
