Although Denver is not my favorite city, there are some downtown buildings that I do like. Forgive me while I channel Lileks for a moment:

What’s far more essential to the spirit of a city than the buildings? The people, of course. These folks aren’t convention-related; they’re the regular staff of the 16th Street mall downtown, and they are terrific. I am 99% sure that this guy has told a mysteriously-drunken version of me how to find his hotel at least twice over the years.
