Election day is upon us and soon the results will be rolling in. The “experts” say that the Senate is a “toss-up”, while predicting that the House will fall into the Dem camp.
Almost all political analysts say that the race for Congress has tightened in the past few days. Possible explanations include Kerry’s gaff, Saddam’s verdict, good news on the economy or last minute voter “cold feet” about turning Congress over to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
With races so close, the weather could be a factor. The conventional wisdom is that bad weather usually favors Republicans. The election day weather report is mixed. The Pacific Northwest and East Coast will be wet, while the central part of the country will be nice.
My hunch is that the Republicans will barely hold onto the Senate and the House race will be closer than most think.
