Foyle's War is the best television drama series I have ever watched. Everything about the productions is excellent: the plotting is not only riveting but each episode softly yet powerfully depicts a moral and historical issue extremelely relevant to WW II and Britain. The characters are so convincing I feel as if I know them better than actual friends. The acting is superb and each of the main characters finds a perfect counterpoint in the other two. All 3 are amazing actors and it is impossible not to admire and respect them as they perform their duties effectively without resorting to pyrotechnics or contrived solutions. The series is brilliantly done and I hope the rumor of another season is fact. Like Holmes, Foyle's War has to be revived because its millions of viewers internationally will find a gaping hole in their understanding of Hasting, police work, and the unflinching devotion to producing a superb mystery set against the massaive canvas of WW II and its enduring effect on humanity and the world so starkly existing 65 years later. Five Stars and if more could be given, I would. This series has no equal and is as educational as it is compelling drama.
