Leach came very close to calling DubYuh a complete charlatan. Bravo! HBG Truly one of the most important speeches of the year. What it lacked in energy, it made up for in content. While other speeches were emotional pleas to support Obama, Leach's speech was educational and full of specific reason's why it is so important to take this next presidency away from the Republicans --an all the more poignant message coming from a Republican not yet ready to totally give up on his party. Read it or listen to it again if you didn't quite get the message the first time around. I agree that it was the most important speech at the convention. We will need lots more Republicans, if we want to win the election. Bob Hayes was right about it de-energising the crowd: it asked people to think, instead of feeding them revival-style preeching to the converted. Hence, even the placement was good: After Teddy' brave rant and before Michelle's tug at our heartstrings and our hopes. In short, Bob, this was good theatre and it might even bring in some voters that the others cannot reach. Not the most effective speech of the night, but certainly the most important.
