The gene of autism is fragile X syndrome.

However, there are other causes, including fetal rubella syndrome, other prenatal infections, fetal alcohol syndrome, lead poisoning, and infection/sepsis.

The MMR debate is because some cases the children are normal, but deteriorate at age 1 or 2. This is probably viral encephalitis, but could be caused by a live vaccine, including MMR.

Quote from p.poster, "doesn’t it seem likely we would have a lot with autistism in our midst if the vaccine theory were true?"
NO!!! Because, babies and children get so very many more vaccines, than we adults did, as children.
The officials say it is the environment, our cell phones, alcohol consuption, drugs, etc., heck, you name it, it causes Autism Spectrum Disorders. But, all of those things are used and consumed differently by individuals and as far as the environment, well, if we all lived in Timbuktu, but we don't, do we??? Oh and you should check out the VAERS website, it will not give you pleasant dreams!!!

Isn't it also true that they have discovered a gene linked to autism, thereby taking us a step closer to finding out that it is probably an inherited malady? Only heard the news mentioned once---why would the media want to counter their own "scare report"?
One of my own arguments counter to the "vaccine cause" is: shouldn't there be a huge group of autistic adults who were given vaccines during the period when there WAS mercury in the vaccines? I was in a graduating class of 350 and there might have been one kid who was autistic...doesn't it seem likely we would have a lot with autistism in our midst if the vaccine theory were true?
Liked your article...wish I could get it to my son and daughter-in-law annonymously since they don't immunize their children.
