This is welcome news. I hope that pro-choice Catholic lay persons will not also be allowed to receive the Eucharist in Catholic University chapels.

Archbishop Raymond Burke in his recent interview with Radici Cristiane, (Lifesites News 19.08.2008) has said that the Eucharist should not be given to pro-abortion politicians in mortal sin. It is a sacrilege. He is saying that Eucharistic Ministers, priests and bishops are participating in this sacrilege.(Veritatis Splendor 55,56,68,70,81 etc and Catechism of the Catholic Church 1751,1756).

The new head of the Apostolic Signatura, the highest court in the Vatican is saying that a sacrilege needs to be stopped.

According to Canon Law a juridical person (Rector, Superior, Bishop) needs to be a Catholic.

A Juridical Person who commits a sacrilege and does not make amends is not in communion with Jesus and His Mystical Body the Church. He is not a Catholic canonically and spiritually.

He needs to publicly make amends and go for Confession, to restore Sanctifying Grace and be in communion with Jesus.

The lay Eucharistic Minister may not be a juridical person. However this is not true of others-participating, in the sacrilege and mortal sin-in Washington, San Francisco and Boston.

Secondly if a Bishop does not affirm publicly that that non-Catholics need Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water, for salvation -he is contradicting the Nicene and the Apostles Creed and the First Commandment. This is a first class heresy.

This issue could also be clarified with the Signatura in Rome and its head, the American, Archbishop Raymond Burke. Also attention needs to be brought to lay Catholics, who are pro abortion or against the other teachings of the Church (e.g salvation) and who yet receive the Eucharist at Holy Mass.
