The Russian "saviours" are killing the South Ossetian expatriates as well as the Georgians. The Russians have a history of moving into chaos in order to take over. Why do you suppose the surrounding free world nations that have suffered in the past from Soviet oppression are speaking out so loudly now. Remember Afghanistan and just what the purpose of the invasion was then. Don't suppose there is any difference here, unless you would want to fool yourselves. Sure there is bad blood between the Georgians and the Russian South Ossetians which is no different than any other stupid tribal intolerances that lead to civil war, death and destruction, but having a third party with selfish purposes intervene and kill everybody is utterly useless. Georgia INVADED S.Ossetia and killed hundreds perhaps thousands of people many of whom were russians. They instigated a war and Russia came to S.Ossetia's aid. It was reasonable for russia to counter-attack and push into georgia to neutralize their offensive threat. Georgia is the aggressor who massacred people unprovoked. Theyre playing the victim and you're all falling for it. Its not about oil and its not about Russia taking control of Georgia. As long as russia withdraws (which they will) there is no issue here.
