DBKP has been following the unfolding John Edwards scandal and we happened to notice that the main character in this sordid saga hasn’t been seen in a while, so we wondered, where in the world is John Edwards?

Perhaps the last “happy” photo of Edwards we may see in a while. The July 21 press conference held with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announcing the $100m Next Generation Trust Fund. Edwards attended as Chairman of his new org., Half in Ten, From Poverty to Prosperity.
The Enquirer claims Edwards entered the Beverly Hilton Hotel at 9:45pm (PST) and spent time in a room reserved by his alleged mistress and mother of his love child, Reille Hunter. The Enquirer alleges that Edwards left at 2:40am where he ran from Enquirer reporters and hid in a men’s room.
July 22: Edwards heads to Denver, the next stop of his Half in Ten Tour, while the Enquirer publishes the story of Edwards late night meeting with Hunter online: Senator John Edwards Caught With Mistress and Love Child!
John Edwards, who has been a rumored vice-presidential pick for Barack Obama, said in Denver on Tuesday he expects his crusade to reduce poverty to play a prominent role during the Democratic National Convention.

Edwards’ Half in Ten Tour, Houston, Tx., Wednesday, July 23.
Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards stopped in Houston Wednesday on a national tour to tout an anti-poverty campaign that aims to cut the number of the country’s poor in half in a decade.
Edwards, from North Carolina, said he would “fight with every fiber of my being” to help low-income Americans.
The former Democratic vice-presidential candidate and one-time presidential hopeful joined local community and political leaders in a private roundtable discussion on poverty, the foreclosure crisis and similar issues hosted by ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Edwards is caught offguard by a reporter who asks about the National Enquirer at the following press conference:
Edwards’ garbled response: the Enquirer was called “tabloid trash and lies”.
The blogosphere chattered about Edwards’ Love Child while Edwards remained mum, the MSM silent. Edwards “disappeared” from the press circuit until July 30 when he reappeared in Washington, D.C. at the AARP studio for a taped interview and symposium. After the symposium, Edwards used the rear entrance to leave the Hotel Monaco where he brushed off a reporter from the Charlotte Observer with a “Can’t do it now, I’m sorry”.
July 31: McClatchy News service publishes a story on the birth certificate of love child, Frances Quinn Hunter:
WASHINGTON — The birth certificate of a child whom a tabloid newspaper claims is linked to former Sen. John Edwards doesn’t identify a father.
The document, obtained through a routine records request, shows Frances Quinn Hunter was born Feb. 27 to Rielle Hunter, a videographer who worked on Edwards’ presidential campaign last year.
Despite the fact Edwards was in the midst of promoting his Half in Ten national poverty tour, the July 30th appearance at the AARP symposium in Washington, D.C. was Edwards’ last known public appearance.

I care and so would millions of other good people if they knew of the story. The liberal press is again protecting one of their own by selectively censoring the news.
John Edwards could have been the next vice-president or attorney general. Shame on you if you don’t care !
Wow, I hope it is not true, but non-denial denials are always fishy. Then comes silence. Sure, the Enquirer is full of lies, everyone knows that - but is the story about YOU a lie? If the answer was no, it seems like that would be easy to say.
Has anyone noticed we have no moral compass anymore? Most young people have children without marriage. Living together before marriage is the norm. Now our leaders, who seem family-oriented, are having affairs-right and left! This behavior will have a ruinous, long-term affect on our country, based on the history of other civilizations. Sane people need to get together and decide on basic standards, at least for elected leaders and role models. Further, we need personal standards. I suggest reading the Bible-or whatever one’s sacred scripture might be. Even using common sense would be better than following natural instincts toward promiscuity.
Ted Kennedy killed a woman. I am waiting for someone to top that!

Actually if I were John Edwards, even if I had been having an affair with the woman who got pregnant, I’d want a DNA test. She is 44, an age that most woman don’t usually have an accidental pregnancy and an age where most women use IVF to get pregnant. Should that have occurred the doctor who would have inseminated her would be bound by confidentiality. Maybe that’s what he’s waiting on before he makes a public declaration. In other words he might be guilty of an affair and still not be the father. I can see someone not wanting to make a declaration of paternity until paternity is established. If, or when it is, he should come clean.
The pictures are out. You know, that could be anyone’s child John Edwards is holding. I want the DNA test, or Rielle herself to come forward and name him as the father. Give John Edwards the benefit of the doubt.
T he photos are photoshopped, John Edwards is not in that hotel room, like the Enquirer wants you to think. Maybe he had an affair
but these photos are not real, they are copies
of photos taken at another place and time.
I stated in many of our December–and later–stories of the affair, in answer to the cries of “lies” and “trash”: “Time will tell”.
Time is here and has told its story.
Unfortunately, as future events will reveal, John Edwards has still not told his complete story.
