Complete Rubbish -- the real story of the Saddam trial be in print on September 16, 2008 .. here is the link on Amazon for Enemy of the State: The Trial and Excution of Saddam Hussein from St Martins Press -- http://www.amazon.com/Enemy-State-Execution-Saddam-Hussein/dp/0312385560/ref=sr_1_43?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1208437122&sr=8-43

The legal and historical fact is that there was no international court with jurisdiction or authority to try Saddam or any of the other leading Ba'athists for crimes committed before the International Criminal Court came into existence on July 1, 2002. The Russians and Chinese made plain that they would veto any attempts to establish a UN sponsored tribunal, and in any event the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan at the time, actively worked to prevent the Iraqis from getting the legal expertise that they sought. Read the book and know what actually happened every day during the preparations and the trial, then make up your mind.

David, we are not barbarians. Plain and simple. This is why he should be allowed to live. By killing Saddam, did his victims come back to life or were cured of their maladies? No.
I believe it was Gandhi who said, "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind."

Why do you believe Karadzic should be allowed to live out his life in jail when his death would bring some sort of satisfaction and closure to the families of so many of his victims? Do you believe that he is somehow to be found innocent of his crimes and/or complicity in same? These people need to know that he is completely gone. Just ask them. Who knows what web of followers he may still have that remain in communication with him that could do his will while alive and in jail. Allow his victims justice just as Saddam's got justice.
