I get soo sick and tired of hearing White people say “if Black people can use the word n**ger, why can’t we”. First of all why would you even want to. Second of all, it is White that people started that word in connotation of degrading Black people and it represents a history of downgrading and negativity towards Black people when it comes from a White person’s mouth. Although I do not like to hear the word come from anybodys mouth, the degrading implications are not the same when it comes out of a Black persons mouth. Third of all White people have been soo use to being able to say anything that they want; that’s why they have a hard time accepting the fact that they can’t use the “n” word without paying the price for doing so. White people just have to accept that fact and keep their mouths shut!

I must say, i don’t agree with Elizabeth’s views. However, I agree with her on this one. She’s right. Why is it that there’s a double standard? So just because Jesse Jackson is black it’s okay that he can talk down to other black people and call them the n word but if it’s gonna come from Bill Clinton he’s gonna get alot of S### and be called a racist for using that word.

Why would a white person want to use that word? Well, if I was describing the Michael Richards incident, I would say that he repeatedly uttered the word “ni**er.” There. I am a white person, and I used it. I never directed it towards anyone, I simply used it to describe the facts of a situation. The thought police would have you believe that I am a racist for using it at all. Not so.

It isn’t the “N-word.” The word is “ni**er.” Don’t try to cover it up- expose it for the ugly word it is. I am an adult. Don’t use phrases like “the N word” or “the C word” around me, as if I am a toddler or something.

Guys come on. If everyone would get over what the ancesters did them we could all live today as today. I am not sure about everyone but I know that I personally did not own slaves so therefore I don’t think it should be held against me for what our ancesters did….

If it is not ok for one to say the N word then it is not ok for anyone to say it. Jesse was quick to put Dog the Bounty Hunter out to dry so I think he should be put there too…

He is no better for saying it in a hateful way then anyone else. But oh I guess because he is black it is ok right??? Well then tell him to sit his a** down when he doesn’t like the way the word is used by another race. And if he is such a great person then he would know that a Rev. shouldn’t say negative things because we all know that god doesn’t approve of it…

It’s funny how whites don’t want us to use the word, Now their saying they never heard another white person say the word. It’s probably because if a white person even says the word it shows their true face. How does a nations, Rape, Murder and enslave a race of human beings and then tell them they can’t and shouldn’t use the word that help whites kill millions. That’s right, Millions. I just read a comment that the black that came over to America are better off than the ones left. The reason that Africa is in the state in which it is, is because Europeans ravaged the whole country. They still do it to this day. I really wish I knew were I come from. Whites make me so sick. They truely believe that they are not racist. They are the most racist people I have ever known. Cause they are the people in control. Thats racism an act not a word or an opinion. I will continue to use the word and I wish a devil would tell me what I can say. Please would someone tell how this is a free country. free for the European to invade it and turn on the country that sent them. I’m sorry but, whitey can’t say the word period. It is the blood of our ancestors that will kill you. Racism is still alive and well it’s just against the law. who was the laws created for Whitey, not mexicians, not indians, not blacks, but the white man, cause of his evil way. Can’t you understand that. Stop try to make the blackman forget his past. You can wish away 2 millions slaves and another 8-10 million that died on the way over here. Middle passage. 1 in every 3 slaves made to America.

I think Whoopi was dead on: “we took it out of the hands of the people who used it and put it into our hands. We use it the way we want to use it.” We are doing the same thing with the comedy “feminazi” (the n-word for women). By taking this word and holding it up to the light for what it really is, we are breaking it down and making it powerless.

Now let me educate you jeff in l.a,

First point,you said you don’t know a single white person who would use the racially offensive term but mentioned a sixteen year old kid which i can reasonably presume was non-black.

Second point,If the word is so repugnant as you say,she could simply express to her audience that the word is repugnant in her presence but i believe her emotional state was due to the reasons i previously stated.

But as i also previously stated,to my understanding white people have the right to use the n***** word but i suspect it would be used out of pure hate and for no other reason.

I hope you enjoyed this bit of quality opinion.

Well, this white person will try to educate you. I don;t know a single fellow whitey who would even DREAM of uttering that word, either in public or behind closed doors. Do you actually know any white people? Do you associate with them? Ever had an intelligent conversation with them?

I recently heard a young (16 year-old) use that term around four of us…all white. That kid, who didn;t know any better…IMMEDIATELY was subjected to a verbal reprimand. He’s been taught to NEVER use that word.

Now, to educate YOU, Elizabeth Hasselbeck used that word BECAUSE SHE FINDS IT REPUGNANT. It’s BECAUSE SHE UNDERSTANDS THE HISTORY OF THE WORD AND ITS HIDEOUS CONNOTATIONS.

Too bad that you had such a disjointed understanding. Perhaps YOU should focus on why Whoopi USED THAT WORD REPEATEDLY on the broadcast.

There are good blacks and bad blacks. Blacks are not all the same. The n…word in my day in the South was used to describe the bad actors in the community.
It was all about their actions, what they do, not their color. Sen. Byrd once referred to the white n……too.

We still have these bad actors in this country and they are still n…….

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have always been n…….., Walter Williams, Larry Elder, Rev Manning of NYC are not.

There are many Blacks who don’t condone this word. I don’t understand why Whoopi was so over the top on this one. She and Sherri acted like this was a “I can jump higher you upmanship”. This was a low day for the view in my opinion. Barbara should address this to the public. I’m with Elisabeth on this one.

A term of endearment this word is not. There is much chaos and confusion surrounding this word and a lot of it has to do with whose voice is being heard on the subject of the n-word. Inevitably, our institutionalized system always see to it that only certain voices are heard from the black community and it is always one-sided.

It’s always those Blacks who are proponents of the use of the n-word that’s given the spotlight, and this is no accident.
