The issue in zimbabwe is about the dismantling of british settler monopolies on our land and resources, and its neocolonial interests in the region. For obvious reasons the USA is an active partner in helping the british scuttle the dismantling process, and the rest of Europe is also sympathetic to british interests (at least), with Russia and China on the other side. The bottom line is that the current british-led onslaught on Zimbabwe is simply a battle for neocolonies.

Us Zimbabweans have a duty to defend our country against this onslaught. We have seen economic sabotage through legislations and measures such as America's ZIDERA, together with other shadowy sanctions that have asphyxiated our economy in order to seperate the governing party from the people and usher in a Tsvangirai-led puppet government that is hostage to tunes played in neocolonial london and washington. So far we have resisted that, and will continue to do that.

We will through a hard battle decolonise our land, our mineral resources, and the minds of our our people. The days of empire are gone.

Interesting take. I also read Tony Allwright's article and I was surprised at his automatic assumption of superiority... he seems to think that it would be a stroll in the park to "topple" the Zimbabwe government. i don't think he (or a lot of others) appreciate that the Zim army is a pretty cohesive, well trained and blooded one. That is an area where the Zim government does not skimp on resources as they are vital to the ZANU-PF staying in power...

By the way, it is not a devil by a junta.. it is becoming more and more obvious that Mugabe is simply the front man for a securocrat junta that wields the actual power there.. Any intervention that forgets to take that into account is doomed to failure.

Just as a word to the wise... it is highly unlikely that any South Africans would be used to train any 5th column for Zimbabwe, as the SA government is too protective of the status quo... and there is the "mercenaries" act which outlaws anyone who does this sort of thing without the approval of the government... but on the other hand, there are MANY ex Zimbabweans who are past masters at the Art of War who I am sure would be only too happy assist.

If you are looking for a local partner to spear-head an intervention into Zimbabwe, then might I suggest you look no further than Botswana? They have already closed their borders with Zimbabwe, and are amongst the very few SADC contries to have expressed openly their criticism of Zimbabwe. They also have an extremely professional, well-trained, well equipped and disciplined Army. Not to mention the base facilities (and airports) suited to support an operation of this nature.. but then, I am sure I am not the first to have thought of that :-)
