Harry’s Place, a well-established UK blog, has been sued by Mohammed Sawalha, the President of the British Muslim Initiative, which has been linked to Hamas and the Islamic Brotherhood.
They write:
Mr Sawalha claims that we have “chosen a malevolent interpretation of a meaningless word”. In fact, we did no more than translate a phrase which appeared in an Al Jazeera report of Mr Sawalha’s speech. When Al Jazeera changed that phrase from “Evil Jew” to “Jewish Lobby”, we reported that fact, along with the statement that it had been a typographical error.
Mr Sawalha says that the attribution of the phrase “Evil Jew” to him implies that he is “anti-semitic and hateful”. Notably, he does not take issue with our reporting of the revelation, made in a Panorama documentary in 2006, that he is a senior activist in the clerical fascist terrorist organisation, Hamas. The BBC report disclosed that Mr Sawalha “master minded much of Hamas’ political and military strategy” and in London “is alleged to have directed funds, both for Hamas’ armed wing, and for spreading its missionary dawah”.
Apparently this small, independent blog is being pursued by some rather fierce lawyers, and it’s up to the blogging community to spread the word and keep freedom of speech protected against censorship and legal action that threaten to stifle open and honest debate.
A blogburst has been started for anyone who is interested in supporting Harry’s Place. Bloggers, regardless of political affiliation, should stand together against the forces of ignorance and censorship and spread the word!
WE SUPPORT HARRY’S PLACE!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI strongly support the bloggers everywhere. I have a blog (in spanish) in wich I wrote a series of articles denouncing a local newspaper’s backstabbing of it’s subscriboers [long story] I was criticized for that in the paper. People and mainstream media should get used to the fact that bloggers are being regarded as more reliable sources of information because we don’t have economic ties to sponsors and or governments, we are free.
In Belgium there’s this “woman” widow of one of Mashud’s killers in Afghanistan having a blog and inciting young Muslims to join the jihad, she is supported financially by unemployment money plus state support for her children, she is very religious and wears the full garb so all there is to be seen are her eyes when she doesn’t wear tainted glasses (I wonder if she’ll ever find a job dressed like that?) she has Belgian citizenship and she’s free and nobody takes her to court.
I strongly support speaking up and speaking out! Even if some tell me that my speech or recruitment efforts are counter-productive, I always do what I must do!
A very interesting website. Share it to the world.
