The Alberta government has proven that health advocates run their agenda, not small business entrepreneurs and the covering of tobacco has accomplished none of the intended objectives except hurting small family run stores. Contraband is growing, teen smoking in Saskatewan is the highest in Canada now (4 years after a display ban)and there has been 'no' decline in consumption anywhere in Canada becuase of this stupiidity. you wouldnt know that convenience stores have sold cigarettes from the same location for 100 years. It is time for small buiness operators to defend their rights to sell and handle legally taxed products in a safe and secure environment. Speed of service and employee training far out weigh any sensationalization of issues by the health groups in Alberta.

Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island have all had the same minimum price laws, that Alberta just adopted, on the books for quite some time already.
Alberta's just catching up to the stupidity of other jurisdictions.

Alberta's got more than most jurisdictions, including the most beautiful stretch of the Rockies. 'Nuff said, to the defender of spit.
