Thomas Beatie, 34 was born a woman but decided about 10 years ago to have the sex changed so he could become a legal man. During the process he kept his female reproductive organs but he did have his breasts removed surgically so he could have a flat chest and then went through hormone treatment.
Beatie has been legally married to his wife, Nancy, 46 for five years. Nancy could not have a baby because of a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with endometriosis, but she already has two grown children.
They decided to try artificial insemination since Beatie still had his female organs. Beatie stopped taking his bimonthly hormone injections and started menstruating again. Nancy inseminated him at their home using Beatie’s own eggs and the donor sperm.
He gave birth to a baby girl at a hospital in Oregon, on June 29, 2008 according to People Magazine on Thursday. Both Beatie and the baby are reported as doing well.
People magazine quote’s Beatie as saying, “The only thing different about me is that I can’t breastfeed my baby. But a lot of mothers don’t.”
There were some reports that the baby was delivered by Caesarean Section but he says it wasn’t but no other details of the birth have been given.
The couple runs a T-Shirt Printing Shop in Bend, Oregon and he is considered a man legally under Oregon’s State Law.

If you have uterous and ovaries you are not a man. If you have your boobs removed you are still a woman. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST MAN TO HAVE A BABY!!!! You would have to be a man to do that, and to be a man there is this little requirement called a PENIS!!
Congrats on being a parent again. What ever you do in your personal life should be no one Else’s business but your own. The bible says don’t judge people unless you want to be judge. And there is alot of judging in this world and it needs to stop now. Again congrats on being a parents.

I find it amazing, but common that in our society anyone can become famous, be on Larry King by claiming to be something they are not.
You can have your breasts removed, but if you still have a uterus, fallopian tubes, and a vagina… you are a female.
I think it’s shameful that fame is coming from an untruth and that our society is letting it happen. In reality, it’s just a female who had her breasts removed…having a child. Thank GOD the mastectomy wasn’t due to a terminal illnes, but a choice.

I am a lesbian and this is wrong on so many levels. First of all, he is still a she. That fact that she is married to another women because a piece of paper says she is a man is bunch of BS. The government says I can’t marry my life partner because my papers say I am a female. Can someone explain how he or she or it is different from me? The only thing it has changed is removing it’s breast. Well, there are women out there who have had breast cancer and had to have their breasts removed. Does this now make they are male? I don’t think so. So why is he considered to male if this is the only change he has made. If the government allows him to marry then I should be allowed to be married to my partner and have the same right as all the straight people. He is not a male giving birth and he is misleading the world. He has more rights then I do just because he removed his breasts. I think the world needs to step back and take a look at people. If I could be married to my partner I would say hey ok whatever floats your boat but this guy is rubbing it my face that he still has female parts and yet is allowed to be married and have a baby and still be called a man!!!!!!!!! I am with you guys men don’t have uterus’s so your not man who had a baby your a woman who had your breast removed and came up with this scheme to milk the public out of money for your greed and fame. This is just one more argument against the claim that a person is born a homosexual or lesbian and cannot help being what they are. This is clearly a choice. If she really wanted to be a man, why did she keep her female reproductive organs? and if she really thought herself as a man, why on earth would she concede to get pregnant, since only women get pregnant? Her gender issues are clearly determined by her self-serving desires of the moment. As far as people minding their own business…I did not seek out people with same sex attractions nor gender identity confusion - SHE is the one who sought the attention. It must be a cry for help. She definitely needs it.
