From stepping onto the runways of Milan to stepping off the balcony of her Manhattan Financial District apartment, European model, Ruslana Korshunova, 20, fell to her death and died around 2:30 on Saturday.

Korshunova, originally from the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan, received her big break when modeling booker, Debbie Jones, saw her picture in a report on her town of Almaty, while reading an in-flight magazine.

According to Jones, “She looked like something out of a fairytale! We had to find her and we searched high and low until we did!”

Korshunova has modeled in runway and print advertisements for famous designers such as Marc Jacobs, Nina Ricci and DKNY. Not to mention she was hailed as “a face to be excited about” in 2005 by British Vogue.

Recently Korshunova returned from a modeling gig in Paris and seemed “on top of the world.”

“I don’t see one reason why she would do that. There were no signs,” the unidentified friend was quoted as saying.

According to AOL News, “Local media, citing police sources, said there was no sign of a struggle inside her apartment and that Korshunova was believed to have leaped to her death.”

Witnesses gave descriptions of watching her plunge from a ninth-floor balcony in the building.

Police say the fall is under investigation.
