O. J. Simpson did a radio interview with a North Dakota radio Station, KFGO, where he made a few comments concerning his upcoming trial in Las Vegas this coming September 8, 2008. He claims he is being victimized by an ambitious Nevada prosecutor that is pressing an armed robbery case even though the alleged victims say they don’t want to take this to court. He is making claims saying this is only because of who he is.
Simpson told the radio show reporter “If I was anybody else I wouldn’t be going to court. How many trials have you ever heard of where both of the victims say they don’t want this guy to go to jail, they don’t want to go to court, and you still go to court? It’s only me.” He added, “But unfortunately for me I got like a bull’s eye on my front, dollar sign on my back, you get involved with people who want to be governor and stuff.”
Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter says he thinks OJ’s comments just shows how frustrated he really is over this incident. OJ and his two co-defendants have denied the charges held on them for kidnapping, armed robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon.
As everyone knows OJ was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman in 1995. Just last month, Mike Gilbert, an ex-friend of OJ’s, claimed he helped OJ wiggle his way out of murder charges by telling him how to make his hand swell up so the bloody gloves wouldn’t fit his hands.
Gilbert wrote a book about the murder and claims that a groggy OJ who was high on marijuana, confessed to killing his ex-wife after he was acquitted. The book, titled, “How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret, and Remorse” was released on May 12, 2008.
Simpson’s lawyer claims that none of what Gilbert is saying is true and he claims that Gilbert is a delusional drug addict who needs money. He says he is in trouble with the IRS. Galanter, who refused to let OJ comment directly because of the trial coming up in Las Vegas, said he talked to OJ about this and this stuff not only didn’t occur but it isn’t factually supported by the evidence.
Gilbert admitted he does have problems with the Internal Revenue Service which was caused by Simpson, but he claims he could take a blood test and pass it but doubts if OJ could.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI saw this on TV last night and I must say that, in this case, I think he is right. I have a feeling this will go all the way, make the DA look very bad, and we will yet know more about OJ that we wish we did not before he heads to yet another golf course.
Has anyone other than OJ tried to put on a well-fitted pair of gloves with rubber gloves on underneath? And how did OJ’s blood get on the gloves if he didn’t ever wear them (let alone how did the gloves get to their locations)? OJ should be hung. Not because he is black, not because he is a horrible father, not because he has an ego the size of Alaska, not because he is a bad actor, not because he is incapable of telling the truth, not because he was found not guilty, he should hang because he is a murderer. We have proof that our justice system works such that innocent people rarely get punished. Now let’s go ahead and hang the actual guilty perpetrator before he kills someone else. That’s the whole point. I will find it very difficult to not laugh if OJ ends up killing someone in the future that was cheering hysterically when he was originally found not guilty. Of course, he will be found not guilty of that crime as well, and the cheering will probably begin again. Our country is swelling with morons. Wow.
Having watched the coverage live on COURT TV from start to finish every day, I remain not at all convinced he did it. He could have easily been framed. Even if one doesn’t believe that is possible, it would not be the first time a crime lab has contaminated evidence. The LA DA proved nothing–other than the fact they didn’t have much of a case.
Considering the number of folks who are being released across the country from death row, life in prision, etc due to new DNA evidence, recanted eyewitness testimony, etc. it seems the legal system needs a lot of work.
O.J. is whinning again. A lot of victims are afraid to prosecute the people who have commited crimes against them. He’s got some very Bad and Scary friends. Once the crime has been committed, it’s always the state vs. the criminal. O.J. Simpson thinks he’s bullet proof, well he’s not. I hope he finally goes to jail and rots. He belongs there for BOTH cases. He’s probably trying to get the same jury, you remember, they took about 3 minutes to find him not guilty (not to be confused with innocent). These idiots really poured over the evidence, didn’t they.
