Noted evangelist minister Annis Shorrosh was arrested by Daphe Police . The reason: Just like other evangelists he too was involved in financial fraud trying to destroy evidence of his financial crime.
Daphne police have arrested an Evangelist minister for arson.
A fire alarm went off about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Loma Alta Towers. A trash can in the basement of the building was on fire.
Police Chief David Carpenter tells News 5 that Dr. Anis Shorrosh used an accelerant to set the trash can on fire. Police believe he did it in an attempt to burn the building down.
Shorrosh says he is from Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus Christ. He also claims to have preached the gospel in at least 76 countries.
Shorrosh has made himself a target of fanatic Muslims by by questioning the Qur’an. According to a website called Islam-In-Focus, Shorrosh has survived three assassination attempts by fanatic Muslims.
Shorrosh was another Evangelist who goes out with a bad name. A decade ago it was Jimmy Swaggart who was caught in obscenity and exposed by a prostitute.
For those who do not know about Annis Shorrosh, he is an Arab Christian who held debates with many prominent Muslims including Ahmed Deedat, and Jamal Badawi. For decades he was into preaching gospels
The Muslims never respected him as a scholar of interfaith dialogues, because he used only negative language to spread gospels. He was trounced by Ahmed Deedat in a public debate on “Is Jesus God?”.Even noted Scholar Jamal Badawi defeated him in one of the debates” Is the Qur’an God’s word?” Shorrosh in his debate tried to show grammatical mistakes in the Qur’an but Badawi responded him in an academic manner.

Shame on you for lying. Though the police did in fact arrest Anis Shorrosh on “allegations” of starting a fire, and yes, the police officer who talked to the media gave his “opinion,” the facts are as follow:
1. Dr. Shorrosh was sent to jail, pending investigation of the situation.
2. Any accusations or charges made by a police officer prior to an actual investigation can get him fired because all the evidence had not been collected.
3. Subsequent investigation reveals that Dr. Shorrosh was not committing any fraud as he was only burning DUPLICATE copies of 20-year old tax records found in a storage closet and which he was fully entitled and expected to destroy.
4. Just because someone is taken to jail, doesn’t mean they are always guilty, until a jury of his peers has seen the evidence, heard any witnesses, considered any extenuating circumstances, and given their ruling, and a judge has given his ruling. That is called due process, something you in Islam reject.
5. Following a heart attack and a stroke last year, Dr. Shorrosh has been on medication that if not kept in balance has resulted in actions for which he was not aware. This was in fact the case. His medicine was altered without his family’s notification and he began to act in abnormal ways, resulting in the incident of which you read. This does not mean he was malicious in any way, just not in his right mind because his medicine was altered.
6. The basement is concrete block and not flammable at all. I know, I went to the building where he lives and looked for myself. The garbage can was a large plastic container and had partially melted on one side, and based on where the fire was lighted, there was no way the building could have burned down.
7. All the talk about his desire to burn down the building was nothing more than an attempt by a local policeman to make a name for himself, for which he was nearly fired. In America, you are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Again, a right you do not have under Islam.
8. Dr. Shorrosh was booked and jailed and then sent directly to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation. There he was treated, his medications were corrected, and he is improving at home.
9. I heard that when Deedat lay dying, Dr. Shorrosh attempted to reach him to pray with him and for him. They had great respect for each other even though everyone on each side always claims their side “won.” Just because a man’s followers want to get his approval by exaggerating doesn’t mean the man agrees with their statements.
10. You sir are an alarmist who takes advantage of mentally ill people indicating your inferiority complex runs deep. If Allah is punishing Dr. Shorrosh, you should be careful not to do his job for him, otherwise you will take his place!
11. One thing I have noticed that needs to be addressed is the cultural misunderstandings that seem to exist on both sides of the issues. You in particular, didn’t bother to get the facts, you just ran with what you wanted to believe. How foolish it is when a man speaks on a matter before he has heard all the facts.
12. Only insignificant people waste their time building their own self-esteem at the expense of people who are suffering medical and mental illness. You have shown yourselves mentally weak, emotionally immature, and spiritually ignorant. Who kicks a man when he is down other than those who feared him in his strength.
Note: Everytime you attack a man of Dr. Shorrosh’s stature, you only try to make a name for yourself by standing in his shadow. How sad for you that no one had heard of you until Dr. Shorrosh made a mistake that you could take advantage of. Coward! Take a man on in his strength using equal weapongs (words or swords or whatever) and then we will see what you are made of. No! You would never speak for fear your bowels would let go. You speak as a coward who waits till the lion is asleep to boast of his courage. Allah would be ashamed of you if he knew your name!
Finally, your ignorance is obvious in that you run around repeating gossip, hoping that by including the names of men like Badawi and Deedat that you will appear to be a man of like strength and substance.
Weak men often quote and misquote other greater men in an attempt to bask in their accomplishments without having any of their own to rely on. Next time, keep you opinions limited to something you know about. That should be many topics from what I can tell. Good luck with that.

In a followup to the original response to your blog, Dr. Shorrosh was cleared of all charges, the police officer was fired for giving opinions on things, particularly accusing him of “wanting to burn the building down.” Due process, which means the actual investigation not the uninformed opinions of spectators, revealed the following:
1. Dr. Shorrosh had no intent to burn down any building. Changes in his medication caused him to be unaware of his actions.
2. The records he was burning were 20 years old and an audit showed there were no attempts at fraud.
3. Dr. Shorrosh had moved into the condominium/apartment after selling his home of 30 years and was still unpacking boxes of old records from a storage facility. At no time was there any support to the idle speculation you and others made. The only fraud committed was by you rushing to condemn before ANY facts were in beyond that a fire occured.
4. There were never any charges of fraud for tax evasion or any other evasion.
5. The supposed attempts to disable a security system was a gross mischaracterization of the events. Dr. Shorrosh left the entrance door unlocked so he could go into the trash room and drop off his garbage for incineration. While he was in there, the wind blew the security door closed. In his attempt to re-enter the building, his key broke off in the lock, disabling the unit. He found a hammer and attempted to pry the broken piece of the key out of the lock and unfortunately damaged it further. He informed the management and paid for the damage the next day. A fact you “forgot” to mention.
6. Your verbage, quickness to accuse and to take advantage of a situation show you are not a true follower of the Koran. You are a trouble maker who leaps on the opportunity to harm others. In no way do you practice the ideals of peace. You do not believe the best about others. This is common amongst ignorant people who gain their identity from being against something or someone. Amazingly, without Dr. Shorrosh and his problems, you would have nothing to talk about. You are pathetic and a bad excuse for a Muslim. If you cannot stand on the truths of Islam, and allow Allah to speak for himself, then you are not a true believer in the sovereingty of God. You have taken on yourself the role of both judge and jury and yet did not wait for the evidence to be presented. You act as one who advises Allah, attributing your own intolerance and hatred to Allah. That brings into question whether you actually can differentiate your own low self-esteem issues from what you claim Allah says. I say you should go get professional help in the area of mental health. Your problem is not so much theological or religious but in your own lack of self-worth. The person who gains their value merely from putting down someone else is indeed unworthy to be listened to. Good luck with that. This could very well have been another conspiracy against Shorrosh. He has and will be respected internationally, even by Muslim leaders. Go watch the debate in Prince Albert Hall between Deedat and Shorrosh. Shorrosh won the debate soundly and his reward was a price put on his head.
If all charges were dropped, someone owes a huge retraction.

Thank you for your blog. I have met Dr. Shorrosh and spoke to him on a number of occassions. It seems Nissar, Steve, and Kam have condemned Dr. Shorrosh even before attempting to find the facts. Oh, I forgot. These people don’t care for the TRUTH. They cannot see the Truth even if it punches them in their face.

When you write an article, you have to stick to the facts. It seems as though you’ve got your own agenda that you’re trying to propagate. It is however not my judgement or the judgements’ of man that need to worry about, but the judgement of almighty GOD himself, as he will not tolerate his servants to be put to shame. And in regards to your comments on who won the debate, Tell me, what debate are you referring to?? because the ones’ that i’ve seen on youtube, Dr Shorrosh was the clear winner. I just came across this story by chance. I read a posting that “He burnt copies of his files”, “His meds made him confused.” People from both side (muslims & christians)would put a conviencing arguement of his motives. It’s seems to me that people who cheat other people always pay for it in the end. I am a muslim but I do not think religion should be a topic of what he did. You could find someone from every religion who have done the same offense or worse and try to blame it on a different belief. Dr Anis Shorrosh is a wonderful, humble and a polite man of God. I am well impressed of him and his preaching. I was inspired of his debate with Deedat (deedat was antichrist) who never acknowledged that Jesus was incarnate. This Deedat was a illeterate guy which is evident in his teasing/deceiving and double speaking tactics before the audience. My faith in Lord Jesus was increased through the debate of Dr. Shorrosh who provides ample evidence through the Holy Bible was Jesus God. May God bless him and even if he will be in the jail he can preach the gosepl of Jesus Christ to the prisoners and many can embrase christianity.This Deedat had tasted hell on earth for 9 years (in coma) for mocking and hurling insults against Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Only he was rotating his eyes wildly and crying and he received what he deserved. Jesus posed a truthful question to his opponents who can prove me that I AM guilty of sin. If anybody asks a Christian about the Councilor/Comforter he will say about the Holy Spirit. But Deedat equated the verse to Muhammad’s prediction. That is why God punished him with the truth in the Holy Bible verse which states that anybody tells anything about the son of man (Jesus Christ was a son of man while He was on earth) will be forgiven and anybody tells against the holy spirit will never be forgiven and will be under God’s punishment on this earth as well as in another life. GOD HAS SAVED HIS SERVANT ANIS SHORROSH BUT PUNISHED DEEDAT TO DEATH AFTER A DECADE OF HELL
No Christian (at least openly) celebrated the terrible punishment God unleashed on Ahmed Deedat for sinning against the Holy Spirit and Christianity.
Many Christians prayed to Deedat for the decade that the divine punishment lasted with the hope that he would regain his speech to repent and God would accept his repentence. But that was not to be God did not allow Deedat to Speak until he passed on after the long instructive punishment.
On the other hands, when Deeadat’s Christian debate-mate, Anis Shorrosh had a mield mental disoder that could not allow him behave normally in the face of imminent fire outbreak, a Policeman that was perhaps an agent of Da’awah organizations, exaggerated the incident to give Muslims opportunities to crucify this greatest enemy of theirs, Dr. Anis Shorrosh. But as God would have it, Shorrosh was proven to have acted under some mentally abnormal condition and all the allegations framed against him were found to be false. On the other hand, God has instructively refused to save Deedat despites a decade of daily prayers by the global Muslim communities. Halleluya!!! However, I am NEVER celebrating Deedat’s disgrace and abandonement by God. I pity him!!
Sorosh looks evil from his face , i can read faces , i know who is kind and who is evil on their face and i can say it and i have seen him on debate also where he is just unable to keep his expressions peaceful, cuz he is restless to oppress the truth, and he is a very bad listener.. and he has only got a mouth, but he should understand the reason he is provided with 2 ears and only one mouth, alright his face says he is misguided and he will never be guided to truth..

It’s not a whole lot of evidence that I bring before those on this blog/post.
I will only say this….I am convinced that this human being could not have possibly dome these things as I have borne testimony for many years (over 20) that this Godly man couldn’t purposely do the things he has been accused of.
I’ll never forget how in one debate with our Muslim friends in Orlando, FL. Anis was the last of sevral Christian scholars to introduce themselves….Each of the the peceeding intellectual giants got up and with seeming ease fortified their position with lightening bolts of truth and expertise…I recall how the Muslims in the audience were aroused with each Christian speakers introduction. When Anis got up it didn’t look like he would receive any less of a courtesy…But when he opened his mouth he didn’t say but a few words…”God loves you.” He said, “God loves you so much my friends that He sent His Son the prophet Jesus to display that love. My prayer is that each and ebery one of you will see that this is the end and the reason why we are here as Christians this evening. No matter who is convinced of the right or the wrong, the blunt of the issue here is that all will undeerstand that God loves His children and wishes the very best for them.” What did the Muslim audience do you ask? Nothing, they were absolutely quieted. Sure eventually, there were a few gestures of displeasure but if you were there you would not have missed the moment. Anis, like His heavenly Father, loves God and His Son whom He has sent and such He loves you too! That’s all I have to say..

You know this is all very amazing. Everyone knew this was going to be big news and so what do we do in a time of anti islamic sentiment running high in the United States prosecute and arrest Dr. Anis Shorrosh for attempted arson and tax evasion? No! We plead temporary insanity.
Which leads one to ask on the Christian side, who caused that ‘insanity’. Who or what caused Dr. Shorrosh this mental lapse? Was it the Holy Spirit or an unholy spirit?
This event did happen and no one can deny it. What is disputed are the details. But as someone who has been involved in litigation and law cases this is evidently a huge cop out on behalf of Mr. Shorrosh.
So the ‘wind shuts the door’ activating the security alarm which also allows for Shorrosh to use a hammer?
Was on medication that made him act strange?
Where is the link that states that he was cleared of the tax evasion charges? After all he was burning something (*evidence*)
And this only follows a pattern set by
Dr. Robert Morey, Jimmy Swaggart, Tammy Baker, and a plethora of others.
