Every now and then I like listening to music that I listened to when I was a young girl. There is something about going back in time that I really enjoy. It makes me remember the good times I had when I was growing up.

Today when this CD came in I got ready for a trip down memory lane as we put the first CD into the CD player. Who could ever be disappointed by music by The Beach Boys, not me for sure. I grew up on the water and went to the Gulf Coast a lot so the name always felt right to listen to on the sandy beaches.

With songs like Surfin Safari and Surfin USA I immediately went back in time to 1962 and 1963. Surfer Girl and Little Deuce Coupe brought me to 1963. Fun, Fun, Fun and The Beach Boys version of Why Do Fool’s Fall In Love really sent me back to my early days. I think one of my favorites was I Get Around. I remember it later in the years than it was when it came out on the charts but it was still popular as ever. It was always a good one to dance to. It would sure get you into a good mood listening to it. I remember California Girls playing on my radio that went with me every time we went to the beach.

I hated for this CD collection to end. I would recommend this one to anyone that is a Beach Boys fan and even to those that aren’t. The collection was released June 10th in a highly collectible limited edition boxed set of 16 CD’s. On each CD the original A and B sides of their singles plus some have tracks from mono and stereo mixes to live recordings.

My husband, Simon and I have different tastes in music so we decided to each do our own review of this one. I was always into Country and music like Motown and the Oldies. His review can be seen here.

You can go here to get your own collection of the awesome Beach Boys. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
