As a devoted fan of German rock since 1971, I applaud the fact that you have given the genre a bit of credit. The big question I have for you, though, is why did you mention the Germans as non-innovators? Are you not aware that the Germans led the rest of the world around by the innovative nose throughout the entire Seventies, in the heyday of German (and most other) rock? Have you listened to Can, who singlehandly invented what I call "the bounce" copied by band all over the world? Have you heard Klaus Schulze, the absolute king of the synthesizer and computer-generated ambient music? Have you heard Ashra, the best unknown rock band in history? Surely you are familiar with Tangerine Dream, the most prolific rock band in history. I am not trying to be critical. I appreciate the attention any of these German pioneers get. My favorite metal band of all time is surely Scorpions, the sister band, or should I say brother, of The Michael Schenker Group. Thanks for the review!
