Ween is considered Alternative Rock which is normally not my kind of music but as I listen to this CD I am thinking it isn’t so bad. I have definitely heard worse, just this morning as a matter of a fact.

The group was formed in 1984 in New Hope Pennsylvania when Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo met in the eighth grade. Later they became known as Gene and Dean Ween, with the word Ween meaning a mixture of the words “wuss” and “peen”. They describe the EP as “The ultimate party record, filled with good beats and good times. Perfect for your barbecue or doing bong hits or whatever it is that you guys do.”

There are only 5 songs performed on this CD.

The first track on this CD was easy to listen to, called Friends  The second being I Got To Put The Hammer Down was quite different from the others. I would call it electronica. King Billy has what you could call a reggae style that would remind you of the Caribbean. I liked the guitar and horns in Light Me Up.

I think my favorite out of the 5 on this CD would have to be the last one, Slow Down Boy. It is more my style. It is slow and very soothing to listen to.

I would recommend this CD to anyone that would like to hear a mixture of styles on one CD. I really enjoyed listening to it.

You can find it here at MVD.
