This recording was done at the Governor’s Comedy Club in Long Island, New York. Mr. New York was originally broadcast on XM Radio in January of 2008. It is filled with one hour full of hilarious stories from the master of self-deprecating humor.

Collins is on stage entertaining the audiences with his jokes about New York and what happens on their Subway. With his unique style and highly noticeable New York accent, he brings his audience in as if they are all good friends. His humor focuses on monologues derived from the experiences of everyday life spotlighting family and friends..

A Native New Yorker, Bobby Collins spent the last 15 years of his life in comedy clubs around the country. He has opened for entertainers such as Julio Iglesias, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Dolly Parton, The Pointer Sisters, and The Everly Brothers. He finally went solo on his own in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Collins was at one time the VP of the company we all know as Calvin Klein, making clearly a six figure salary and riding through Manhattan in limousines. He decided to give all that up to become a full time comedian stating, “what I really love to do is comedy…That’s what I do; that’s who I am; that’s my need. I love it.”

The New York Times called Bobby Collins “The most natural comedian working today.”

I love the quote on the sleeve notes:

Special Thanks to: All the bullshit people in the world where my honest comedy comes. If it weren’t for all the ignorance and small-mindedness of you people, the real people wouldn’t have anything to laugh at!

You can get this CD filled with humor at MVD.
