As an organization, Military Spouses for Change, did not endorse either version of the GI Bill.

Personally, however, I believe that the McCain-Graham version fails to appropriately compensate servicemembers, like my husband, for their combat service, which is no less valuable to this nation than that of previous veterans in previous wars.

Senator Hutchinson introduced a bill (S.2575)that would provide for the transferability of GI Bill benefits (in whatever form they may take) to spouses or children that I would very much like to see considered and passed.

The G.I. bill update that Sens. McCain, Graham and Cornyn support would allow education benefits to be transferable to families, including spouses and children. That means Carissa would be eligible for them, and perhaps any children she and her husband might have.
The Webb bill supported by Rep. Noriega does not allow transferability.
Why would Carissa, as a military spouse seeking change, back no change to transferability in G.I. bill benefits?
