It's a discussion worth having, Blaids. Why not air some of your thoughts?

“black people do not like it when white people drive up in their Mercedes and tell us how to spend our money”

Blatant racist rhetoric by Innis
vs
"It is this subtle bigotry" by Suddes

You bring out an interesting internal debate for me. Thank-you Matthew Mayer

Fair enough, Blaids. Your accusation against CORE is noted and, if true, is unfortunate.

Nevertheless, it does not address the racist rhetoric of Thomas Suddes. Do you have a position on that?

I worked their. Call and ask anyone from the "Sales Team" if they have ever missed a pay period.

Third, Payday allows CORE to suggest the employee "look into payday" as a way to assist until payroll can be met. Perhaps you should ask CORE for clarification.

Blaids --

First, your argument is fallacious. It does not address the racist rhetoric of Thomas Suddes.

Second, that's quite an accusation. Can you provide supporting evidence? If not, it's tantamount to libel.

Third, how can support of payday lending help them to "run" their organization unless they directly profit from it. Please clarify.

Of Course Roy and Niger Innis of the Congress of Racial Equality support pay day lending as an step in helping them run their own financally strapped oraganization. Many weeks during the year employees don't get paid on time. All the while Innis drives his Mercedes from his 'white neighbor' on his way to steak dinners, while his staff can barely get home on the subway.

The industry has been accused of locating in communities with high populations of military, women, Hispanics, the elderly, African Americans, recent immigrants, young people, social security recipients, veterans, the poor and households with a median annual income of $48,000. In reality, payday lending stores are located in easy to reach places, where people work and shop. While critics of the industry assign labels to payday lending customers in an attempt to further their political agendas, the fact is that we provide services to a broad cross section of Americans because there is widespread demand for the financial service we provide. Our customers represent a large demographic segment and cannot be grouped based on race, sex or religion.
