It is very sad that the catholic church has adopted Latin in the Mass. It may have been a practice in the past. But English is the Universal Language and if the Word of God is to be understood it should be spoken in a language that is understood by everyone. There are many people who do not know Latin at all and when you go for a Mass that is said in Latin how can you follow the Mass, when you cannot participate in the prayers. Jesus never spoke Latin. He just spoke in the Language that was understood by the people of that time. Now the Pope addresses the people in Latin which is limited only to a segregation of the catholic community of the world. It is high time the Pope and the church came down to earth and lived like Jesus did, not in luxury and aristocracy but humbleness and selfgiving.
