If your blessed you might get to see what J. Spencer called a “blue moon things only to be seen once in a life time.” Estelle’s CD “Shine” is a blue moon, eclectic yet rooted in Hip-Hop. You can also hear the strong influenced of soul music “Shine” is clutter breaking the delicate and unique formula used to produce this sound is a unusually refreshing style of reggae, soul, and Hip-Hop fused together to provide a new musical direction.  Estelle says “All my songs are 100% my life” with songs like “In The Rain” and “You Are” which features a duet with John Legend “Shines” executive producer Estelle shows her singing capability. This CD has big name producers on the menu Swizz Beatz, Wyclef Jean, Will.i.am, Mark Ronson and Cee-lo & Jack Splash adding there flavor to Estelle’s vocal style.

On the CD there are songs that have the ability to become club favorites, and a few cut’s that are totally R&B slowly creeping on the edge of soul. When asked about her musical influences Ella Fitzgerald, Mary J. Blige, and Dinah Washington were mentioned just to name a few. This West London raised girl, who has be quoted as saying her look & style is a cross between “Audrey Hepburn and Salt-N-Pepper” is bring England’s version of Hip-Hop and R&B to the states not unlike Floetry the difference here is that she flows and sings which keeps you guessing what she will do next. Estelle is on Home School Records which is John Legend’s new label so this put’s here in the company of Kanye West having these hit makers behind you says a lot and leaves you with a lot to prove!
