Interesting developments with the Chinese hacking Indian systems. There is a lot of evidence they have been attacking a lot of government systems in the past few years.

There is an interesting blog - if you haven't seen it yet about Chinese hacking:

The author is a former U.S. Department of Defense type, who seems to know a lot about the subject.

Naavi,

Whom do you want to listen to you? Political class like - Congress, BJP, Communist and lot of assorted parties like DMK, AIADMK, TDP, JD, SP, etc. OR Babudom OR Military establishment.

Nobody is bothered. All are interested in preserving their seats, powers and unstated perks.

You may shout or bark or roar. These are ostriches.

What is happening to ITA-2k modification? Pending since 2005. Even the modifications became obsolete.

Despite the efforts being made to help India proposed here the problem lies in the fact that we (America) are simply too lax on these security threats. Supposing a Chinese spy walked into the Department of Defense and stole critical information from a binder or file cabinet. The country would be up in arms. Yet, when a Chinese hacker compromises a computer and steals the exact same data in digital form the response is not even within the same ball park. To quote the article "the only reaction of the Government was to advise its officers not to use e-Mails for critical communication." This is exactly the problem. This is neither a solution nor a reaction. It's passing the bill.

The author of this article is a great patriot.
India's Political parties are more concerned with vote banks, and will sell even their mothers for a few extra votes, that they hope will keep them in power. So who is minding the store. Noone except concerned citizens like the author of this blog. Kalam was one of a kind. Concerned citizens should raise their voices.
