I liked “Wanderers of the Desert.” Granted it was a little challenging but IMO well worth the effort.
It’s ironic that the two previous reviews seem to examine the plot logically while the police officer in the film was tripped up because he tried to do the same thing. He tried to make sense of events and motives using Logic. The school teacher tried that, too, but eventually was overcome by the mysticism of the place. The scribe had the sensibility of a poet and so fell in with the spirituality of the place.
The film is rich in poetry, allegories, legends and parables which gives it something in common with another film by Mr. Khemir that I adore "Bab'Aziz."

When my dear sister found this Tunisian movie in a public library she was very excited! and to tell the truth I was very excited too! after years of missing my beautiful country I thought this is great I will enjoy this movie with some popcorn, a nice cup of coffee and a tasty piece of cake! but unfortunately I was big time disappointed! I couldn't believe that I wasted such 2 hours for this movie. Finally, please have piety on yourselves and your family members by not watching Wanderers of the Dessert...
