What a STUPID decision....And, many buyrs don't like it either. From the community boards, I see many buyers stating that now that buyers can leave unwarranted feedback, the feedback scores will be meaningless, and they won't know who is a good/bad seller. There are other alternatives. I was suspended from ebay for stating a coa was included yet I "failed" to show a picture of the coa which was a "new" rule I was not aware of although the email I got was crypted and did not disclose the "actual" reason to have my auctions pulled. I re-listed everything not knowing the reason and BAM suspended, I got back on with a new account using the info on www.suspended-from-ebay.com and never did anything more, I've been boycotting. I've had problems with paypal too! Frozen account and hacked account. What a monopoly. Great read!

I have spent every day, all day, reading and studying everything eBay, mostly the changes, the man that is behind them, John Donohoe, and analyzing reaction. I know John Donohoe is not a mentally sound person. He's the only person that believes what he's doing is right. Thousands that have been closer to eBay are screaming it's wrong. JD came to eBay two years ago and cannot possibly understand eBay philosophy, as it's been for 10 years, and how eBay identity is internalized deeply in eBay sellers and buyers. Users have a deep understanding and unique bond to eBay, before JD messed around with eBay. JD is a VC. He's playing with his VC skill using every part of eBay to cause certain parts of eBay to self destruct on itself (I believe JD calls this, cannibalizing). For example, the core auction business, which is eBay and has been highly successful for years is now falling apart as I write. This core still had vibrant life, but now it's self destructing after JD made changes that would insure that would happen. This new CEO comes along and he couldn't understand eBay core user's and why they should have the privilege of using what he thinks are for business higher ups, what he would call real business people that went to two colleges. JD in fact looks down upon these little guys that don't, to him, have a clue. These types, to him, are mere parasites that don't know business but had a good thing going with the former eBay platform. One cannot buy that argument because the core that was smaller sellers built up year after year into the solid company eBay became. The ebay platform was so different. JD calls this type of entrepreneurial business "disruptive "). eBay worked very well and this man, JD, decides to set it up so sellers look like they are failing, then he has cause to get rid of sellers (now bad sellers) and end eBay's core to turn eBay into another business. A business JD understands and can become the king of, without small sellers getting into his precious space. JD ruined so many people's businesses, so he could "play" around and take eBay apart. There was no need to tear eBay apart, at least not yet. JD's nature and business training taught him one way to go about business. It happens to be the most ruthless and unscrupulous way to do business in the world. I love this other site called ioffer.com. They seem to have 40 percent of the volume of ebay - as far as I can tell. There are some deals there - that are better than ebay. It's a fun site, too. I don't know how well people do selling there. I've heard it's a little slow - but listings are free and they charge a very small amount if you sell something.
