Grizzly Tales - Dr. Moribundus (DVD)   Grizzly Tales - A Tangled Web (DVD)

Does anyone else remember R.L. Stein’s Goosebumps series?  I didn’t read the books as a child, my parent’s wouldn’t let me.  Occasionally I would catch a show on FOX early Saturday morning, but there was nothing more early 90’s than Goosebumps.  The stories weren’t that scary, there was often a lesson associated with the horror, and they were at least entertaining.  Someone new has taken over that throne.

Starting this April 22nd, now available on DVD for the first time ever from PorchLight Home Entertainment and Granada International, are two releases from the Grizzly Tales series.  Grizzly Tales – A Tangled Web and Grizzly Tales – Dr. Moribundus are now ready to bring home to make your kids laugh, learn, and be thrilled like they haven’t been before.

Grizzly Tales – A Tangled Web consists of seven gripping episodes:  The New Nanny, Spaghetti Man, Grandmother’s Footsteps, Death By Chocolate, Wooden Hill, A Tangled Web, and The Princess’s Clothes.  In these episodes, to name just a few lessons, your children will learn that the dark is not scary, you should eat what is on your plate but you still shouldn’t eat too much chocolate, and that you should be kind to animals.  Grizzly Tales – Dr. Moribundus is made up of six intelligent episodes: Burgerskip, The Barber Of Civil, The Chipper Chums Go Scrumping, The History Lesson, Sweets, and Doctor Moribundus.  In these episodes, just as a sampling of the lessons learned, your children will see that protecting the environment is important, eating too much candy is always bad, and you should never ever fake being ill.

This series is based off of the ever popular books of the same name from British author, Jamie Rix.  The television series has gone on to win many awards and become just as popular.  These are cautionary tales at their finest.  The lessons included in both of these DVDs are very crucial ones that children need to learn.  What sets this series apart is the way in which the advice is given – they aren’t preachy, but they make a point that will really stick with you.  Most kids could use a dose of some more Grizzly Tales!

Both Grizzly Tales will keep your children entertained, teach them some important lessons, and, hopefully, not scare them (or you!) too much.
