Small press, or studio, to be more precise, films which are aimed towards children are worlds apart from other kids’ movies.  They tend to rely more on the story because the production is not as glossy, and lessons are often the focal point.  Some digress into a world of terrible special effects, but most find that it’s cooler to just stick to their message.  I grew up watching these movies, and most of my favorites as a kid were movies none of my friends had ever heard of.  I suppose I was into indie film before it was even cool.  Now there is a new movie in the same vein.

Starting this April 29th, now available from PorchLight Home Entertainment and Daybreak Pacific / Aria Films, is the latest film about the children and their crazy summer camp on Treasure Island.  Treasure Island Kids 2 – The Monster Of Treasure Island is ready to bring the good times home to your kids when they aren’t away at summer camp themselves.

Treasure Island Kids 2 – The Monster Of Treasure Island is the story of the next summer at camp on Treasure Island.  All the kids are wrapped up in their projects of shooting movies, but they become between gender lines.  A strange new child arrives on the island and sees the dysfunction of the way the kids are behaving, but then the sea monster arrives.  The kids have to learn to put aside their differences and get rid of the monster to save their lives.

Treasure Island Kids 2 – The Monster Of Treasure Island is the sequel to the greatly popular Treasure Island Kids – The Pirates Of Treasure Island.  The second film continues in much of the same vein.  This film is more than just an adventure.  It isn’t just about the terrifying monster and the movies they are making.  It’s also about teamwork, getting along, and the importance of finding a place to belong.  Those are messages which children can always to learn again.

Treasure Island Kids 2 – The Monster Of Treasure Island is a wonderful treasure and well worth finding.
