I was somewhat into dinosaurs as a little boy.  I had some posters of them and read some books about them, but I was never a monstrous fan.  I was not ever one of those dino nerds who knows all about each and every dinosaur, a Stephen Hawking of the Paleolithic Era.  But they were okay by me.  Now, if your children like dinosaurs, they just might like this new DVD.

Starting this March 4th, now available on DVD from HIT Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, is the latest great episode from that famous purple dinosaur celebrating 20 years of entertainment.  That’s right, Barney – Animal ABCs is now available to bring home and enjoy any time you or all your children could ever possibly want.

In this episode of Barney, Barney and all his friends find some blocks with letters of the alphabet on them.  Well, they decide that learning the alphabet alone isn’t enough work, they have to find an animal to match each letter as well.  And so they do, in a show with is both fun and very informational.

Interestingly enough, this disc does indeed contain some pretty fascinating special features.  One of these is a bonus episode from Fifi and the Flowertots – “Stingo Gets Stuck.”  There is also a Spanish language track as a way to move your child towards becoming bilingual.  Also, utilizing a feature which Disney has included for quite some time, this disc also features an auto-play option, where you don’t have to walk all the way up to the DVD player to make the movie start.

This particular episode starring Barney and all his friends is a wonderful to learn and practice the alphabet, a great way to become informed about all of the wonderful diversity in the animal kingdom, and a fantastic way to sing and have fun!  In general, Barney always bring entertainment and education to the forefront of whatever he chooses to do.

Barney is informative and entertaining fun!
