the people's coments so far show that at worse we still are not able to see each other beyond racial stereotypes. And at best we are indifferent to each other's human being (I don't know good black people and the opposite is said too). And so we continue to make unfounded decisions about each other. And we going to vote in November that way? Me thinks the elephant is skinny like a snake.

The presidency will be won on emotion, as it always is. But Barack has emotional appeal to people with nothing to lose; basically a pretty wide cross section of the country's alientated cranks and marginal players. I went through this with McGovern in 72', when I myself was a young leftist punk. It is incredibly easy for someone on the outside of the mainstream to think they are part of a movement with real momentum. There is a huge wakeup call coming if barack is nominated; rev wright was the first alarm bell, but the obamists just hit the snooze button. This is basically because they agree with everything he preached. I have news for ya'll. It won't play in Peoria, and that is where elections are decided.

Good insightful and well written article. I prefer to judge a person as an individual and not what their supports parrot's about, especially if they are screwed up and bigots like pastor Wright (Obama "supporter") or Geraldine Ferraro (Clinton "supporter"). Having such nut supporters who needs a competitive opponent?

Never underestimate proud Americans who will not vote for a man who hates America and who lies. He knew that he was attending a racist church, naive he's not. He, his racist pastor/mentor, and his wife are not proud Americans. He needs to drop out of the race. He's not who he says he is.
