Also, Scientology's ideas are optimized to Anglo-American culture, which makes it stick out like a sore thumb in Germany, which is basically the heart of the Continental culture. I feel appalled as an American that our State Department tries to force Germany to accept L Ron Hubbard's delusions as a religion. Hubbard tried to publicy demonstrate the supposedely increased "powers" that Scientology would give you back in the 50's and he failed miserably. That was the last time he ever allowed Scientology to be public scrutinized and now Scientology want to make inroads into education and healthcare, all without a shred of scientific evidence. All we really want is for the Church of Scientology to be thouroghly investigated to the satisfaction of the many people who are concerned about them. We want to know if they are really as harmless as they claim to be. We want to know if they truely do deserve the tax breaks that not even Catholic or Jewish get. That shouldn't hurt anybody. An organization with nothing to hide would more than welcome the chance to be investigated to clear up the "misunderstandings" we may have about them. Then everybody can coexist happily knowing that there isn't something sinister amongst us. Wouldn't that be nice?
