What Zimbabwe needs is to be treated fairly when it comes access to funding such as that provided through the Global Fund. The HIV/Aids community agrees that Zimbabwe's appilcations for funding are among the best made by any country in the world but the country continues to get a raw deal. You should ask yourselves why Zimbabwe - a country with one of the best HIV/Aids intervention strategies in the world (check the statistics if you really care) - is trated the worst by the Global Fund? This is just a microcosm of the wider treatment Zimbabwe has been accorded by international multilateral institutions. You people who write all this stuff do not really give a hoot about Zimbabwe's Aids patients. You only care about your political agendas and that is why this story concludes with the author saying South Africa should push for political change in Zimbabwe. Treat Zimbabwe fairly and you will be surprised with what will happen. But then again, that is just a pipe dream. You will not rest until your political wishes are realised and those without access to ARVs will only continue to suffer.
