The Ron Paul Campaign Broke Fund-Raising Record
A Rise in Mainstream Poll Numbers
Battle Against Low Name Recognition May Finally Be Turning
The battle against low name recognition may finally be turning for the Ron Paul campaign.
The Paul campaign has had no trouble generating enthusiasm from supporters, but low name recognition has hindered the Texas doctor. A fund-raising record and a rise in the polls may indicate he’s ready for a break-out.
Dismissed by critics, both in the media and in the political sphere, Paul’s campaign made a bid yesterday to prove it’s “ready for prime-time”.
The candidate continues to show grass roots support; his campaign have broken their own one-day on-line fund-raising record.
Back in November, the Paul campaign raised $4.2 million online in one day with what they call a “money bomb,” a fundraising gimmick devised by Trevor Lyman, a musician and self-appointed Paul fundraiser profiled by The Times Dan Morain yesterday. Sunday’s gimmick was to celebrate the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on a website with a drawing of Paul that looks remarkably like that president on the penny.
The Paul campaign has shown surprising strength in fund raising and on-line polls, but that has yet to translate into mainstream poll numbers.
However, this was a time for the campaign to celebrate. The amount wasn’t raised by a small group of large donors, rather it was an avalanche of small donors–via the web–that drove the fund-raising.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI seriously believe the polls underestimate his true support, since the campaign is so wildly *different*. In the case of Ron Paul, these polls really don’t matter. The man’s campaign tops all other GOP campaigns in fundraising, volunteer support, Meetup groups, rally attendance, online “polls”…yet some people insist that he is still a “longshot” simply because of the MSM polls. It makes no rational sense.
The main stream propaganda machine failed to mention that Ron Paul broke the one day record for donations. It is another example of the distortion and manipulation that is being presented to the American people’s “news”. I believe that it is impossible to that the the Huckster and his family from deliverance has “surged”. The Huck, whatever money he has, comes mostly from Hilleryt’s inner circle from Arkansas, like Tyson Foods. Wake up America, no matter who your candidate is, it is time to protest the corporate laciest that are controlling our lives. Big Brother is here!

The report is accurate: mainstream polls, i.e., polls that are not subject to gaming, consistently show Dr. Paul to be no better (at this time) than 7-9%. As I stated, this is better than his recent showings of 2-4%.
This is not an indication of disapproval, merely that the biggest problem he has to battle is name recognition, which remains low nationwide. I like Dr. Paul, but his supporters should realize that attacking messengers like myself that are not filled with the same zeal is counter-productive to Paul’s chances.
I used to write roughly 2 Ron Paul pieces/week. Because of the attacks by supporters that I was not sufficiently rabid, this is the first one I’ve produced in over 3 weeks.
I’m favorably inclined toward Ron Paul, since I’m a Libertarian, but it may be another 3 weeks before I do another one–if then.

The pollsters don’t even include Ron Paul in the polls. In fact they don’t even say his name at all. He is listed as “other” along with hunter, tancredo and keyes. They mainly call land line phones during daytime hours so most Ron Paul’s base supporters are never contacted. The “mainstream” media is doing their part to push their favorite corporate puppet candidates but there will be some big surprises in the months ahead during the republican primaries. The revolution will continue full steam ahead. The real question should be, is primetime ready for Ron Paul?
this is an absolute shameful. With all the American people that could use just a few more dollars to improve the basic standards of their lives these politicians think that the one who raises the most is gonna win. Our country has no more principles that count for something, just the almighty dollar. What would Abe Lincoln think????????? GET REAL POLITICIANS!
Sorry Bro but I didn’t see anybody attacking you in the comments. The numbers in the polls you mentioned may be accurate but it’s the polls themselves that are not run in an accurate manor. Who are they calling? What are the questions asked? The people being polled are not Paul supporters. Of course he won’t win when you don’t contact anybody that supports him. Many of Ron Paul’s supporters had given up on politicians and are finally getting back into the game. Those supporters that gave him 6+ million yesterday will not be called. Go Ron Go!
Mary, Although you do have a point about the way our system works, you are misunderstanding the Paul campaign. The money is being given by regular people in small amounts in an effort to get a person into the white house who will radically change the system. The money is needed because of the way our media works, and due to the fact that a majority of the people in this country are too ignorant too understand policies and issues, and instead vote on name recognition, charisma, personality etc.
Also, maybe you should brush up on your history as Abe Lincoln was not the president you think he was. He tried at every turn to destroy our constitution and actually was quite the fascist.
BNN: Thanks for the coverage and positive outlook.
Aaron,
Hi!
No attacks here, just a couple emails I got before I wrote that last comment and sheesh…I’ll plead “not in a good mood at the time!”
Like I said, I contributed a video and a couple stories to Ron Paul and like the guy. I see he’s tapped into a frustration that is out there with the nanny state in general. Polls? We could take those apart all day, but they’re the same for most…and like I keep writing…it’s a 11 months before the election! Anything can happen.
ahhh…I don’t really care. I just realized that it sounds too much like I’m whining!

ADRIAN: Buddy, you just made my day!! hahaha…ok, maybe I will do that RP story on Wednesday! hahaha…thanx!
People are getting sick and tired of the same old song-and-dance from their presidential candidates. See this YouTube music video, featuring horror movie icon, Reggie Bannister, from the international award-winning feature film, “Song of the Dead.” It’s a great satire on the president, the MSM, and the war on terror. The filmmaker is giving a share of his profits from the film to the Ron Paul campaign.
