HOW DARE YOU!! HOW DARE YOU!!!

Perhaps you are affiliated with VERIZON. You probably are!
VERIZON are guilty of the following charges: Obstruction of Justice, Failure to Comply with a Search Warrent, Assessory to a Crime, Impeding an Investigation.
I also URGE Mr Whiting to File a Law Suite against Verizon, and urge the D.A's office in Philidelphia to File Charges against them.
They took 12 days to locate information!!! They said it takes 'employee resources and computer time' REALLY!!!!! HOW long does it take them to locate information on customers who default on payments....10MIN!!!

If they had COMPLIED with the Search Warrent, and handed over the informaion quickly, the dog could of been saved!

I feel sorry for you blogger! You've been brainwashed in thinking that Beaurocracy is an excuse presiding over LAW, Civil Rights, and Animal/Human Life!

Dude, look.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Republican. I love capitalism -- it makes us (and subsequently, the world) go 'round. I voted for Bush -- twice. And mostly, I think the media is, well, evil and comfortable promoting their own liberal agendas. Ann Coulter had it right: Katie Couric is indeed the modern-day Eva Braun.

However.

I'm also a girl, and when I read about this story on foxnews.com, I cried my eyes out.

I don't think corporations are evil -- I think they're why we enjoy a booming capitalistic society in this country. Corporations mean jobs for millions of Americans. But they can also be a little on the impersonal side, and while you site this as "only" a kidnapped "doggy," I see it as a microcosm of where we are today as a society.

The sadistic little assholes who speak "American ghetto" (agreed that the very phrase is political correctness running amok) are not going to stop with innocent animals. (Animals, I might mention, who, during the course of their lives, provide comfort to people in nursing homes and hospitals.) They are most definitely ill-parented (if at all) and have probably been at the receiving end of abuse themselves. What we should worry about is their next victim. If it's this easy for them to torture and kill innocent pets, then you can easily trace the arc of violence that will become their adult lives. I'd bet you my internal organs that if these little wastes of life aren't caught now, they *will* grow up to abuse/rape/kill innocent people.

This is my problem with Verizon dragging their heels. Imprison these fuckers now or society suffers the consequences later. Secondly, if anyone in the PR department at Verizon had a clue, they'd -- if nothing else -- see this as an opportunity for good, free publicity. My boyfriend works for Verizon. He was disappoiinted but not surprised in their response to this particular instance.

Verizon missed the chance to make this a win-win. With little effort, they could have come out smelling like a rose. Instead, in the interim, current sociopaths/future murderers are running around somewhere in south Philly; nursing homes and hospitals are without a therapy dog; and a man (albeit maybe a liberal one) is without his beloved pet. And somewhere, this poor animal was tortured and killed for fun. For meanness. It is heart-breaking in its own regard, no additional string-pulling needed.
